From their board:

I do wish that in the NFL they have FULL TIME refs

I don't understand this either.

Whatcha mean? I think 2017 is the 1st year they have like 20+ refs that are full time out of the 120 or so pool of refs.

So some are full time but the overwhelming majority are not. How can we give the commissioner 50 million dollars and his own damn lifetime health insurance but not hire 120+ full time refs?

Because the commissioner doesn't want to give up any of his 50million

Average NFL ref makes what 150k?
18mil to hire them all full time

Sure we did. Give us the TD that Julio scored and if Free doesn't fumble at the 2 and it's a whole new ballgame. Hell, just give us the TD back that Julio scored and it's a 3 point game. Taking ATL's late TD off the board is as dumb as me taking off NO's last 15 second TD before the half.

First, Julio didn't score

Second, that wasn't what you said, this was:

quote:

Neither game seemed to be officiated very well and yet both visiting teams had a chance to still win.

While I agree, neither game was officiated well, you argued how if Atlanta would have been given another TD and didn't fumble (which they did), they would have had a chance to win. Atlanta.

"Add two more touchdowns, and we would have had a shot"

What they fail to realize is that their offense couldn't do shite.

Did the refs force that Freeman fumble? What about them getting stuffed at the goal line? There were a few shitty calls, but the Falcons were still pretty much dominated.

Didn't we own most of the stats? A: Yes
Even if you take away the last drive of the game, we still led in virtually every statistical category, including turnovers and penalties.

No one said they did. It was just a reference to how the games score could've ended differently.

That play doesn't happen if you give Julio the TD he scored.

Possession. 2 feet in bounds. 1/3rd of the ball is passed the white line. On my round earth, that's a TD.
But hey, maybe you're a flat earther.

ETA: Look at the goddamn dumbass ref not even on the line. No wonder it didn't look like a TD to him. Idiot.

Well allow me to retort.
That TD that wasn't called wouldn't have mattered if you had scored on 4th and a foot.

Wholeheartedly agree.
Great teams overcome shitty calls.

ATL is not a great team this year. We overcame those bad calls last year.

Yall were magical last year no doubt. All the good mojo, plays and calls. Reminded me of the NYG the year they won it all.
May collide again

Doesn't matter if you have 2 feet down with the ball crossing the goal line. You have to also have full possession of the ball. They said Julio established possession at the 1/3 yard line which is where they placed the ball. SO GET THE frick OVER IT!

I dont think anyone is trying to make the argument that the game wasnt horribly officiated, but to pretend that the second game was soooo much worse is laughable. The falcons were playing horrible the entire game. Yall missed out on 2 TDS on the goal line which was completely your fault (even the one where julio's catch was ruled not a TD).

you are kinda leaving out the two biggest penalties against the saints.

1. FG to end the half was wiped off the board.

2. Personal foul to end the game on Payton. the official wouldn't stop the clock.

Some important stats here:

Time of possession:

Saints 33:48
Falcons 26:12

Sacks

Saints 5
Falcons 1

Turnovers

Saints 1
Falcons 2

Atlanta had 16 more yards than NO, 1st downs were even. Many of those yards/1st downs came on a garbage time drive with theSaints playing some prevent. Saints defense made bigger plays, and Saints offense controlled the ball more.

The frick he didn't. I'm not on the whole "refs fricked us" excuses as muliple turnovers going into score and undisciplined penalties is what lost that game. The better team won. But that was a touchdown.

No fricknut, HE DIDN'T SCORE. Jones did not establish possession of the ball until he was outside of the goal at about 1/3 yrd line which is where they marked it. That wasn't a touchdown.

It is. I think the same thing about the 2nd game as I do the first...dont depend on the refs to offset your stupidity. 10 penalties on you and 4 on them? Should have been smarter 6 more times.

The false start call, and 2 PI were bad calls.

We still whooped their arse...in both games.
