Hello Who Dats & Who Datettes and welcome to the Week 9/Game 8 thread. I hope you enjoyed your extra hour of sleep to warm up for today's noon game.
The Trevor Siemian era begins officially begins today as the former heir apparent to Peyton Manning in Denver takes over for the injured Jameis Winston, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in last week's win over Tampa Bay.
And that wasn't the only bad injury news for the Saints this week as it was learned the Saints would be without wide receiver Michael Thomas for the whole season due to a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury suffered in week 1 against the Buccaneers in 2020.
But back to the QB situation, what a first start for Siemian in NOLA as he gets dropped right into the rivalry that is Falcons/Saints. Now granted the rivalry isn't what it was... say... 3 years ago as the Falcons have kinda fallen off over the past couple years, but it's still a significant rivalry.
The Falcons will be without their top wide receiver in Calvin Ridley, who's stepped away from football for a bit to work on mental health issues. So the focus turns to Atlanta's Mr. Everything, former Viking Cordarrelle Patterson. The Saints D needs to keep him bottled up, while continuing to sack Matt Ryan over and over and over again like they have in recent years.
LET'S MAKE MATTY ICE MELT AND MOVE INTO FIRST PLACE IN THE NFC SOUTH!!!!!
By the way, congrats to Roman Harper & Jahri Evans on being inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame last night.
Injury Report:
ATL-
Jonathan Bullard - Concussion - OUT
Calvin Ridley - Not-Injury Related - OUT
NO- (players on IR - like Winston, Peat, Lutz, & Crawley - won't be listed here)
Carl Granderson - Shoulder - OUT

Malcolm Jenkins - Knee - QUESTIONABLE
Payton Turner - Calf - QUESTIONABLE
Weather: The weather outside may be starting to turn frightful, but inside the Caesar's Superdome it'll be wonderfully comfortable today.
Uniforms: Home in the Dome and it's the return of the all-black uniforms for the Falcons
Current Standings:
NFC South:
Buccaneers 6-2
Saints 5-2
Panthers 4-4
Falcons 3-4
Betting Lines: Saints (-6.5); O/U 42
Want to listen to Mike Hoss, Deuce McAllister, & Steve Geller instead of Kenny Albert, Jonathan Vilma, & either Lindsay Czarniak or Sara Walsh?

Have Turner and Davenport been on the field together yet? I’m cautiously optimistic there but hopefully Turner is able to play.

Saints bout to roll! Mark Ingram rushes for a 100 yards today & Sieman dinks & dunks are way to victory, much like Brees did his final 2 seasons....Look for more production out of the back up and practice squad offensive players, as that is who is most comfortable with Trevor...smells like a 27-17 Saints victory (Falcons score late to make the score closer than it really was)

Not sure but Davenport moves inside at times so it's definitely coming at some point.

What’s that about? He’s actually one of our better WRs. Is this so Kevin White can play?
