Those and karney were arguably three of the most contentious player relationships.
Its almost comical how biased this story is. Its similar to doing a character piece on G.W. Bush and only interviewing extreme environmentalists and communists.

there is only one reason they "added" the bit about the cell phone call
the call came when Bensel Loomis and Payton were in the Florida panhandle for some coaches nfl thing
so if Bensel denies he made the actual call but it came from his phone........
this was a story about SP trying to control the media so.............who the frick you think made that call? we all know who it was

Disagree this was a story that SP is an A-hole particularly to the media. Every coach wants to control the information that comes out about his team. Les Miles does the EXACT same thing:
-He release EXTREMELY vague injury information
-He basically shuts the media out of practices
-He gives extremely vague practice reports
The only difference is Les does it w/ a smile and gives the media the occasional funny quote. In turn, the local and national media loves him.
Payton just has extremely poor tact when it comes to dealing w/ media.

Kaare wishes he was one tenth the man that his father was.

I have no problem with anything that was said that he does. My only problem is that there are too many disgruntled former employees looking to give him the shaft.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that he was named on this report. It also didn't surprise me that WIST was failing.

Wait...so OTL is trying to say that an NFL Head Coach is arrogant at times?
Wow. What a revelation. I wonder how much of a saint(no pun intended) Pete Carrol and Rex Ryan are?
I am sure they are very humble, honorable, decent folk.

I still don't see the point of the piece other than to just smear a guy's image even further. Not sure what ESPN is trying to do. Did Sean not grant them an interview? Maybe he said something about John Clayton's ponytail or Ed Werder's porn stache

The story was a complete hatchet job and total bs journalism.
But its no secret that most of the media DESPISES Payton. Its not new. Its been known for a long time. He doesn't like them and treats them like dirt, probably with good reason.
So this story shouldn't come as a surprise. They have been waiting like buzzards for SP to fall so they could pounce and pick on the corpse.

Best part about this is Saban does the same shite that Payton does, yet Saban gets an article written about how he changed College Football and Payton gets a "frick you" piece done on him by OTL.

There have been plenty of articles written by ESPN that absolutely ripped him apart as well (before he restored alabama to an elite level). The difference is that the media is kicking someone while they're down (the Saints). It's easy to do...

Not after he won a second NC. No, the media is trying to tell the morons that believe everything ESPN says that Payton is a bad person and a bad coach because of it. Saban is 10x the prick Payton is and Bellichick is 40x the prick. ESPN wont go after the "untouchables".

I don't think WIST is necessarily "failing". Aren't they just for sale? I'd like to hear more details, as I always admired WIST.
WHERE Y'AT KAAAAAAAAARE?!?!?!!!

WIST was sold. Probably will change formats within the next yr. I beliee the guy who bought it has ties to EWTN which is a Catholic tv/radio station.

I'm know I'm late to the show, but I didn't catch the segment till yesterday afternoon. I'm trying to keep my stress level down and I want to avoid anything that makes me angry.
John Barr and OTL should be ashamed of themselves. That was a very unprofessional segment for no other purpose but to paint CSP in a negative light so that he's not a sympathetic character. They also said some BS that the Saints had a bounty on Karney. Pfffttt. It was a damn slide that said "Mike fricking Karney" and saying how he sucks at his job. Bounty is like ironic; no one knows how to use it correctly.
frick that hit piece and frick espn. If I didn't have a damn fantasy team on espn I'd never visit there.
