ESPN gives credit to the wrong part of Saints roster

New Orleans' starting lineup isn't the worst in football

I would contend it is clearly better than teams like the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and Carolina Panthers, among potentially a few others.

I found this to be a much more evenhanded and accurate assessment of the current lineup

If you want to see the original article from ESPN that they are refering to
here is the link to that. For ESPN to refer to the Saints pass rush last year as a strength shows that they didn't do their homework.

Are you saying the run defense was a strength??

You cannot objectively look at the Saints and say they are the worst team in football. We don't have any All-Pros, but we have plenty of good players. I would put our O-line up against pretty much anyone else's. We are definitely a bottom 10 team.

We have solid players, but we lack studs and the combo of that with league worse qb play and you get people considering 0-17 a possibility. Coaching matters and I have seen good coaches improve QB play. I have no idea where Moore ranks in this department as of now so can only judge Rattler on last year/college and Shough from college and it’s not pretty.

You can based on the qb situation as of now. We will have a better idea as camp progresses and preseason. Only team that compares is the Browns.
I think Cam Ward is a stud and Bryce looked solid down the stretch.

I’m waiting for the “Unknown Comic” of the board to tell us otherwise:

No idea why you would even judge Rattler on last season. Team was injury riddled at that point. He was legit playing with 3rd stringers as starters.

Rattler led the team in rushing yards the last 2 games of the season. His lead WR was MVS, and Foster Moreau had the most yards in the 2nd to last game of the season.

Ran into an interesting article over the weekend. AI makes game-by-game predictions for New Orleans Saints' 2025 season
They had the team finishing 7-10. Obvisouly, the games are not played within a computer simulator; and you still have to take everything done with AI with a grain of salt
quote:

We had to run this a couple of times; Grok hallucinated a Week 16 prime-time game with the Denver Broncos (which the Saints won) and a Week 18 road trip with the Green Bay Packers (which New Orleans lost) that do not exist, scrambling the order of games played after the bye week. It needed a reminder to make predictions for this year's New York Jets and Tennessee Titans games to be played in Weeks 16 and 17, too.

I have a hard time seeing 7-10, but the rationale behind a lot of these wins does makes sense. And having a really bad team going into what is expected to be a good draft for QBs, 7-10 would be a very Saints thing to do

I asked ChatGpt to "Make week-by-week predictions about how this year could go for New Orleans Saints" and they came up with 9-8 and finishing behind the 10-7 Falcons in the South and drafting between 14-18...a very Saints final result

Again, take everything with AI with a grain of salt
quote:

Strategic Implications for New Orleans:
Too low to land an elite QB prospect without trading up.
Prime spot to target:
A WR2 to pair with Olave
A top-tier cornerback or pass rusher
Or possibly a QB like Jalen Milroe, Cade Klubnik, or Shedeur Sanders if they fall

I agree, me being a fan I’m trying to use this as an excuse that we will average this season.
