Matt Elam is starting for the team that won the superbowl and was drafted after both mentioned above; by your logic:
Elam>Reid>Vacarro
Could both teams have drafted the wrong safety???

He's too embarrassed to come back to this thread.

OK, Quizmaster, what is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

I don't know how everything isn't Quiznos. They toast their subs you guys.
Posted on 8/28/13 at 12:21 pm to Breesus
I heard European swallows are better swimmers.

it's just a matter of time KV will take the job from Harper or Jenkins
Just bench them both and let Kenny play both positions at once.

Not at all. They could be carried.

Maybe
Ravens and SF > Saints
When it comes to building a defense, and picking defensive players.

Don't want to rag on Reid as I'm pulling for him individually (though his being a good player on that defense = trouble for the Saints), but do you think that he improved from his sophomore season to his junior season? His stats may have been SLIGHTLY better (if at all), but he really seemed to regress in terms of the eye test. That may have been in part due to Mingo and Montgomery regressing themselves, but I like to see a clear cut improvement over time from my high draft picks.

I would take KV over Reid any day. Reid is a hard hitter that is it. He made one great play (taking the ball from BAMA TE) in coverage while at lsu. He got burned a lot at lsu and takes bad angles 90% of the time.

I'm sticking with trolling. He can't seriously be comparing which pick is better based off 3 preseason games, right...RIGHT?!?!?!
jeezuss this is dumb. Why the hell would someone even try to make this claim. # preseason games with vanilla D and you have Reid in the HOF and Vaccarro a scrub. Please extract your cranium from your anal sphincter, OP.

He played with a bruised sternum for most of the season. Him winning a spot on the 49ers this quick is a good sign that he didn't regress.
IMO he tried to do too much last year. He was the only returning starter in the secondary and he tried to take over the playmaker, headhunter role. Which Mathieu, Claiborne, and Peterson were.
The 49ers have the best defense in the NFL. He won't have to do much, just his responsibilities. They have great CB's, LB's, and D linemen. Makes his job much easier.

Too early to tell, but i have a feeling whatever safety san fran went with would start, they make players on that side of the ball look better

Can everyone please get back to trolling.

And this is why I have come to hate LSU fans and have lost much of my passion for LSU football. I am actually a "Let's draft NO LSU player" guy now, because I loathe all the damn "LSU greater than GOD" fans.

I think Eric Reid had to to a lot more as far as play calling int eh secondary after Brandon Taylor left, and this hurt him. In San Fran he isn't the veteran, he isn't the main man back there and can just do his thing.
