Also, have you been watching the games?

I have. I agree he's been impressive. In fact, I feel he should be the starting free safety. He has more speed and range and is a better tackler than Malcom Jenkins. Perhaps move Jenkins to strong safety. IMO he'd be better suited there for guarding TE's and helping with run defense. As for Harper, let him blitz on 3rd down and that's it. But every weekend I see 27 and 41 on the field starting and they don't seem to get any better. I've heard at least one coach say that OC's tell their QB's the first read is always Harper in pass coverage.

For the nth time, he will rotate with the starters.

You're dumb. So are the rest of the Harper Haters. He is an above average strong safety, a veteran, and a team leader.

Have you? What do you do for a living? Got a link?

Is there a reason you cant seem to understand that Ryan rotates safteys and often uses 2/3 and multiple DB looks?

Me too. I mean i think you'll be a good poster this season. I've seen some good stuff. You might go back to your old ways. I'm not saying you will, but I'm just being a realist. I've seen you do it before. I hope I'm wrong.

I see what you did there.

Zombie is a realist. He predicted 7 wins last year after game 1 despite the harassment that followed. I'd be interested in hearing his prediction for 2013

I try to look at things without the black and gold glasses on, which is hard being a huge fan myself. I'm still mulling over what I think we'll do this year, but it will be on the plus side of .500 for sure.

Reid picked picked three spots after Vaccaro wins starting free safety position for a Super Bowl team. Vaccaro won't start for the worst defense in NFL history. Did Saints pick the wrong safety?

One team lost their starting safety in FA and the other still has both starting safeties but will still give the rookie a ton of snaps.

It's not god damn snakes on a god damn plane you know.

Because Eric Reid is special, and i honestly think he is in the perfect situation i San Fran to do great things.

Vaccaro will be splitting time with two shitty safeties.

Otis, do you not know how modern football works? Or how a multiple d base works?

Leave the football to the adults. Find a stick to fetch in traffic.

well that is your opinion.

the 49ers let Dashon Goldson walk in free agency. The 49ers front seven is what makes that defense click. You'll see how average Goldson is in Tampa Bay with no pass rush.

Reid may be in a better situation but Vaccaro will have a better impact. I think he'll have more responsibility than you think. I mean let's be honest, the Saints haven't really tipped their hand much as to what they are going to do on defense just yet.

They made a statement by picking Vaccaro. His versatility is what will make him have more of an impact over Reid.

even if he doesn't "start" every game.

They're probably the worst safety duo on the NFL. Jenkins is completely worthless outside of a few impressive hustle plays. Harper used to be a very good all around safety (people forget that he was solid in coverage his entire career until the Seahawks playoff game), but is pretty limited now.

But I didn't get the love for Reid at LSU. Had REALLY high hopes for him heading into his junior season and he just stalled, maybe even regressed a bit from his sophomore season. Vaccaro has had a great preseason (don't know how about how Reid has done) and was pretty much unanimously considered to be the best S in this draft class, so I'm as happy as ever that we made that choice.

Vacaro seems more aggressive and a better tackler. Reid was burned a lot last year. But he was not into it after the Bama Loss along with a couple more. Time will tell. I put my money on Vacaro.

Both are good picks. Both have similar preseason scores from pro football focus. So far only Matt Elam has done better in preseason. All three are legit so it doesn't matter much. We got a good, maybe great player.

Harper Haters
________________________________

You notice there are no Jhari Evans haters or Pierre Thomas haters or Lance Moore, Darren Sproles or Jimmy Graham haters, huh?

ask yourself, why is that?

So called Harper Haters didn't just wake up and decide to start hating on him. He had it coming based on performance.

Jim Harbaugh said it after the playoff game. Harper back peddles in coverage in goalline situations...not good

Ask Pete Caroll if he likes going after Harper

TE's and RB's all across the NFL pray they get man coverage from him

you draft a guy 15 to rotate him? They had to see a need at safety, that's why they pulled the trigger. Play him fulltime. Trust him. Trust yourself for picking him so high.

I must admit, I don't see the advantage in having 3 safeties on the field at the same time, except for Hail Mary situations. I must be dumb.

BTW, what's plural for safety?
