We don't have a very good track record with free agent defensive backs. Might not want to go back to that well.

Eric Reid is a cancer...maybe a good football player but we don't need him or his politics in New Orleans. I'm embarrassed that he was a Tiger. Screw him and Colin K.

Reid also played LB for much of last season.

Two games counts as "much of last season"?!

Reid is a great down hill or in the box safety. He struggled after the Harbaugh years up until this year. I hope the 49ers find a way to keep him, but they have cheaper options they may equally like.

That said, I don’t want him for football reasons. Would rather keep Vacarro or draft somebody.

And if I take your suggestion, who would your Mom go to when she's lonely? You would deprive her of her only joy in this world?

He moved to LB at the end of October which is about mid season. He played the last 9 games as a LB.

I wouldn’t say he’s great even as that. More like above average.

He seemed to be a decent FS. Not sure why the new regime is intent on moving him to more of a run stopping role. It doesn't seem to be his strong suit.

He isn't fast enough to play a deep FS position. He is very physical and quite good at covering TEs. Therefore they have moved him in the box. He really played well down the stretch.

He played FS his rookie year, which was by far his best year, and then continued to do so the next 3 years.

This past year is the first time he didn't play much FS and he had possibly his worst year.

This year was his highest graded year on PFF. His rookie year he played on a top three defense in a scheme where the FS and SS responsibilities were interchangeable.

Sadly, as a niners fan i watch every single snap and game. It was rough this year until Jimmy G showed up. Reid had a great year playing at the SS position.

Yet you talk like you had some facts to support your BS. Sorry excuse for a man just can't be honest about why you don't want him here.

I met Eric Reid at a men’s function at Church. He wasn’t paid to be there, just a good kid. I couldn’t believe how mild mannered and respectful he was to all these guys he’d never met before. Eye contact, “yes sir” “thank you”. No one from Football was there watching, it who he is.

Must really buy-in to the political message not realizing how it offends others.
I think the issue is more nuanced.

But even leaving that aside, you think there's any human being you 100% agree with? Do you need to be that inline with their opinions to find them a good person? It's okay to disagree.

At least he wasn't a douchebag about it, & admitted he was wrong.

I’ve come to this thread maybe 4-5 times and forget that I’ve already downvoted it and I downvote it again.

Reid taking a stand is really going to hurt him in free agency.
Half the teams will pass.
He cost himself a lot of money.
Hope it was worth it.
You only get one shot at that second deal.
