I'd like it if he would please stop "running into" our own damned linebackers too... that'd be great.

Every team has players come back and go to games when they can. Ingram gets the pub, but most former players at every school goes back for a game and is on the sidelines with the team.

Mark's trade value will never be greater.

Trade him ASAP.

You know your in trouble when a back rushes for 386 yards on the season with 145 coming in one game and people are saying "feed the beast". I truly hope Ingram becomes Emmitt Smith, but I'll take him being a solid 2nd option at this point. MI has been so bad that when he doesn't completely suck guys like me are getting excited that we are getting anything out of a first round pick. Considering the Saints track record with UFA running backs the Ingram pick has developed into one of our worst in recent memory.

It was fine because we used him primarily as a 2nd string back. The issue is that I don't think that YPC holds up if he gets more carries, as a matter of fact I think it would plummet again. That being said the fact that we used a first round pick on a RB that cannot carry the load is disappointing to me due to the success we have had getting solid to good RB's off the block. I hope I'm wrong and he delivers a workhorse like year this year and stabilizes the backfield behind Drew.

He finally showed flashes this year, so yeah, next year is his time to step up and get the carries and show us he was always worthy of that 1st round pick...

What do you base this off of? He ran well against the good run defenses we faced at the end of the year, but of course that won't matter because of the unfortunate timing of the fumble.

I have a problem with that statement.

Since the dallas game he rushed 71 times against the:
#4
#31
#8
#2
#9
#2
#15
#10
#8
avg: 9.8 ranked defense

for 337 yards which is 4.75ypc

higher than his average the whole season.

I guess I'm just having a hard time going all in on Ingram being a #1 back and being able to be a workhorse for us. I believe this is based on his overall body of work so far and the fact that we used a first round pick on him. I will attempt to think positive and not let my past thoughts of Ingram affect my judgement. I hope I'm wrong and you guys are right.

Ingram pain train pulling into station 2014.

Get your jars ready NFL

I fricking love the Saints

Seriously though I've been defending this kid since he got here. I don't know if he's the next HoFer but he's not the shitty unwatchably bad bust most of this board makes him out to be.

Um, did you just not watch the last half of the year? You're really letting one fumble cloud your judgement here.

Ingram is not good in our system...he needs the ball 20 times a game and not draw plays etc....he would be good in a system like seattle

28 rushes for 146 yards in the playoffs (4.9ypc)

18 for 97 yards (5.4ypc)
3 receptions for 17 yards

and

10 for 49 yards (4.9ypc) - 1 fumble

Wanna know when the last time a RB in our system averaged more than 15 carries a game?

Deuce in '06.

We're getting too 'creative' with offensive schemes. If he's playing well, we need to start complementing the passing attack with a consistent running game.
