Brees is the greatest Saint of all time. I hope that he does not fool himself if his arm is "shot." It was obvious that the Bucs were stacking the line, because it seems as if Drew cannot throw deep or throw deep outs. I pray that I am wrong, and "rust" was the issue.

well you had Peat and Easton acting like turn styles at times - Oline play was not great at times

You want him to throw deep? Protect him. We hardly had a run game at all, though I give Payton credit for sticking with it all game. On the deep pass to Cook, Drew had time and delivered a great ball. I didn't love the play calling for the most part, but that's what happens when you don't get any preseason games.

TB was sitting on the short/medium routes and clogging up the passing lanes (other teams will do the same). Even on the long pass to Cook the S kept looking back to see if Brees was really going to throw that deep pass. I agree with SP, it was a poorly called OFF game. Our play-calling was predictable, especially on 2d and short. We need to mix in Taysom Hlll more, and get the ball to (or use as a decoy) D. Harris. The guy can fly. With MT, Kamara, Sanders, Hill, Harris, Hill, etc the options to be explosive and unpredictable are there.

Yep, 1st game and it goes in the books as a W, but we have plenty of work to do to achieve our goals. WHO DAT!

I am all for the Saints and Brees. Even when he had protection it was obvious that his arm strength is lacking. Again, I hope that it improves as he plays.

I dont Remember that being very often.

It was a sloppy game.

And honestly there was a lot of that around the league.

The throw he made to Cook on the sidelines got there with good velocity. Tampa has a good rush all game. He didn’t seem to have a lot of time for things to develop downfield. Drew will be fine. He can still make most of the throws.
