I think the guy writing the article started putting it together before the news of the contract offer came out and decided to throw it out there anyway. He mentions Drew looking to make around $40 million with the tag this year and next, but it looks like the 5 year deal gives him that as well. He'll sign.

I've taken drew's side on this the entire time but if this is true and the deal doesn't get done, it's gonna be hard to justify drew turning it down
