Drew Brees base salary this year: 2 Million dollars

Drew Brees' contract breakdown:
$23M roster bonus (treated as a signing bonus for cap purposes)
2020 base salary: $2M
2021 base salary: $25M
2022-2023: Void years
The bonus and voidable years allow for a modest 2020 cap figure as the Saints keep building their roster.

Curious. Different people are reporting different structures.
When I did they math on the other version it worked out perfectly.
This version is a lot more funky. Is the roster bonus this year? How would splitting that make the cap work out like they claimed? This version isn't adding up (yet).
Edit:
Got it now.
So the "roster bonus", as said, is split over 4 years (so it does kick in this year). That adds $5.75 mil to the cap.
With the previous bonuses and new reported base salaries it does all add up right.
The only difference between this version and the other version is it gives us 1 more built in year to spread out a potential restructure next year.
That really does nothing for us if he retires after next year as it'd still all accelerate to 2022, but does give more flexibility if he decides to play in 2022 or potentially beyond.

Pretty much means he's all in for one more run and is giving Loomis as much as possible to find him some weapons.

So what does it mean for the next year? Will the saints be paying Brees a couple
Mill a year for a few decades or will the rest of all the “restructures” just hit the cap at once?

OTC shows
2020: $23.65M
2021: $36.15M
2022 & 2023: $4.6M each
I'd imagine if he retires after this year it'll be $45.35 in 2021

Depends on how much, if any, of the $25 mil base salary is guaranteed next year.
If none we'd "save" $25 mil (base salary next year) - $5.4 mil (old bonus) - $17.25 mil (new bonus), which is $2.35 mil.
Edit:
Also have no idea how they got $4.6 mil.
$23 mil ÷ 4 years = $5.75 mil.
Edit2:
By their own accounting the $4.6 mil number makes no sense. They list the dead money number (which equals the remaining prorated signing bonus) for 2022 as $11.5 mil and for 2023 as $5.75 mil.
$4.6 mil x 2 years = $9.2 mil, not $11.5 mil. And OBVIOUSLY $4.6 mil does not = $5.75 mil.

That it's VERY realistic Brees plays. And being that the did 2 dummy years instead of 1, I think it leaves the door open for him to play beyond that if he chooses because it helps facilitate that better.

OTC is showing 4 million in dead money being paid to Teddy... Can someone explain this? Is this money we still owed him on his contract?

Yes we added a dummy year when we resigned him to spread out his hit.
