Anybody know what our first (29th) and next years 2024 first round would move us up to this year. How do teams assign value to a future pick? You see it in the NBA where if its not a top 10 pick etc. It defaults to the following year.

This years 29th pic is worth 640 points. Just for reference the 1st overall pick this year is worth 3000 points.

General feeling is that a future pick is worth one round less than this year's. Now, I don't know if it is calculated as a middle of the round value, or at the same pick level, and maybe it is a hybrid of those two.

If you assume our 2024 pick will be middle round, we might be able to move into top ten if there is a willing trade partner. Philadelphia at #10 would be the most likely imo, and I'm sure they'd be willing to fleece us again.

There are a few models out there.

The Jimmy Johnson model is the most common from what I have seen.

Here is another

the Fitzgerald-Spielberger NFL Draft Trade Value Chart.
quote:

The concept for this research was to use NFL salary data to retroactively grade every draft selection from 2011 through 2015 following the conclusion of their rookie contracts, and to use that data to better project the value of each future draft selection.
