Might need a future pick just to even out the points but this looks realistic.

I say don’t wait and could even make two trades to go get a couple of these guys around 101-110:

CB Keionte Scott
CB McCoy
Edge Dani Dennis-Sutton
Edge Josh Josephs
WR Elijah Sarratt
WR Skyler Bell

Scott in particular is ranked way higher on big boards, might be a character thing that had him fall? That happened when we picked Chauncey too

You’re really clamoring to trade up Proxy.

I agree there are a lot of good players and we still have plenty of needs. We don’t have that much draft capital and need lots of players though. I think if we make moves, we need to make small moves and not give away too much.

I don’t mind taking another WR and there are some good ones left. But I don’t want to move up for one. I only want to move up for a CB, IOL or pass rusher. Maybe one of the safeties.

What should we get next year in compensatory picks for Alontae? Or is he offset by the guys we signed in FA this year?

at this point, I feel like getting a highly rated player is better than just using picks to use them on lower quality

But yeah, man I’d like to have Scott in the fold after losing Alontae. And the edges will be gone by the end of the round for sure

The team trading back isn't going to take less on the trade. If anything they mostly push for + value on their end. You are going to have to improve those by one pick up to make those trades.

It takes 132 (1st 4th) and 150 (1st 5th) to get to 110 even. You aren't getting to 109 for our 2nd 4th and 2nd 5th. If anything they may push for both 4ths.

That’s why I posted the trade value charts where it identifies the missing points and noted we may have to give a throwaway next year

Definitely offset. I think Davis also counted, but we signed Etienne, Edwards, Ellis, Fant and a few more so anyone we lost was more than offset. So no comp picks next year.

I do like the idea of drafting Sarratt. I think he’s gonna be a solid depth piece wherever he goes. But, we need to double down on DB help today

Teams are going to push for this year's picks since we actually have some. You usually only see future picks involved when no current picks would work.

It would also suck using next year's picks for us when we get to next year, since they are all valued a round down, so I think IF we trade up we would also prefer to use the picks from this year.

It doesn’t cost the farm to get a 4th round pick this year, just depends on what teams are willing to do it

132 and 150 gets you to 103 with a .5 point difference in their favor (equivalent to next year’s 7th per value chart)

I have to say, I’m proud of the Saints for not trading up to reach for players and letting the draft come to them.

I guess all the trades up were more CSP.

People didn't want to believe it, but absolutely true. Pre Payton we actually traded down a few times. Under all those years with Payton we traded down only once iirc.

We were also far less aggressive under Allen, and haven't traded up once yet with Moore.

I don't think we'll never trade up, but it will be much more selective instead of always feeling like you NEED to go get that one guy. More in a case where the value is about to tank and you don't want to miss out.

Give it another year or 2...

Remember, under Payton we were a playoff team, and "getting one more guy" might be a big deal.

Whereas now we're trying to restock the team. Even the 6th and 7th rd picks look pretty safe to make the roster. We're not 1 player away, yet.
