Even if he could throw the ball, he isn't very accurate.

I certainly wouldn't draft Mccarron, but I wonder if we can get Mett or Murray really late because of their injuries. I'm talking like 7th round here, not 3rd.

can he throw an 8 yard flat route?

I'm not even gonna address the fit of McCarron with the Saints or his career projections in the NFL...
But why waste a mid-round pick on a QB now that you project to eventually replace Brees that will only sit on the bench for the next 4 years? Furthermore, he'll become an unrestricted free agent at the end of those 4 years, while quite possibly never having played a significant regular season down for the Saints.
In addition, it is not far-fetched to believe Brees won't get an extension of a year or three (provided continued performance levels & health status) which could make the idea of drafting a QB with a high draft pick in 2014 with the goal for him to be the Saints starting QB in 2020 even more ludicrous.
Notice Loomis & Payton have only added QB's to the roster via late round picks or vet/undrafted free agency. There's a reason for that. They know what they are doing.

Well I didn't say it would happen, but if they are there because of injury I would certainly take them.

murray late in draft isn't too far fetched...

McCarron will be out of the league within 2seasons

I didn't think so either, but this other guy laughing at the suggestion apparently thinks he's going to be the first player selected.

In what world is aj mccarron more mobile than brees

McElroy has stuck around longer than that and AJ is a much better QB than him. Don't let your purple shades make you dumb.

I fully expect him to be the best qb in this class by a good bit. He will be a top 10 qb in the league or better in his prime. If it was a late round pick I wouldn't mind at all. I think people are going to be impressed during his draft process though.

Tajh Boyd and Aaron Murray would both be much better prospects in the middle rounds

Don't need a replacement QB to be drafted for another 2-3 years at least

67% three years in a row and 5 int or less three years in a row. Yeah he sucks. . I think he'd do well in the Saints offense.
This isn't a run first offense. He's not that good. Most qb would have similar success at Bama the past few years.. nothing special at all.
Nonetheless the Saints have far too many positions of importance to address the QB position in the 3rd. Get out with that crap. Still 1-2 years away from even going the groom route. The Saints really like the Tulane guy they got now considering the made a spot for him and they rarely carry 3 QBs!

Even if he didn't play for Bama I wouldn't want him.
1. Weak arm
2. If a QB can't be a gunslinger (or at least rack up yards) in college he can't do it in the NFL. There have been zero times where HE has had to go out and win the game. That happens most of the time in a pass-first-and-second league these days.
3. The dude has a full chest piece. Have you seen that shite?
I am in the crowd that thinks we DO need to take a QB and groom him under Drew.. but not this year. Maybe next year. It's also possible the coaching staff really does see something in RG4.. I think we're going to see a lot of him next preseason.
