Doug Pederson’s message to Eagles’ defense: Keep hitting Tom Brady

This sound familiar:
"Eagles coach Doug Pederson spends most of his time working with the offense, but at Super Bowl LII he had a very simple message for his defense: Hit Tom Brady, and do it often.
NFL Films showed Pederson on the sideline talking to several defensive players, and the message was that getting physical with Brady would be the way to win.
“You keep hitting number 12,” Pederson told his defense. “Keep hitting him. Keep hitting number 12.”
The Eagles hit Brady as he was passing nine times on Super Bowl Sunday, but Brady had an outstanding game anyway, throwing for 505 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions. But on a crucial play in the final minutes, Brandon Graham hit Brady well enough to knock the ball loose, and the Eagles recovered for their biggest defensive play of the game. The Eagles’ defense had a tough time with Brady, but hitting him paid off in the end."

I wonder if he offered some sort of incentive program where by players were...rewarded with some form of....compensation for particularly effective hits on the opposing QB?

its called contracts for millions of dollars wherein they agree to tackle the guy with the ball because they're fricking defensive players

Welp, suspend him for next season.

I think there was plenty of evidence it was performance related and that RG conflated the whole thing to frick CSP.

Pederson rewards them with ice cream. Same difference.

This has been hashed over a million times but let's do another.
Coach 1:
“You keep hitting number 12,” Pederson told his defense. “Keep hitting him. Keep hitting number 12.”
Coach 2:
a) "We've got to do everything in the world to make sure we kill Frank Gore's head."
b) "Remember me, I've got the first one, I've got the first one" (while rubbing his fingers together like Johnny Manziel)
c) Every single one of you, before you get off the pile, affect the head"
d) We need to find out in the first 2 series of the game, the little wide receiver #10, about his concussion."
e) He becomes human when we fricking take out that outside ACL.
f) We need to decide how many times we can beat Frank Gore's head
LINK
You see the difference in the quotes, I hope?
All of this being said, it really doesn't bother me probably because other teams did or said something similar. The Saints were made the example but my point is, don't play the victim card in this scenario. Down vote away but I'm right.

I think it took awhile to aggregate the info on Coach 2.
My point is, this shite happens.

yle Williams can’t believe the New York Giants weren’t punished by the NFL for targeting him in last year’s NFC Championship game.
quote:
“The only thing crazy to me was that nothing came of it after they came down so much on the Saints,” Williams said.
quote:
“The thing is, we knew he had four concussions, so that was our biggest thing was to take him out of the game,” said Jacquian Williams, who forced the 49ers returner’s overtime fumble, which set up the winning field goal.
quote:
“He’s had a lot of concussions,” Thomas said. “We were just like, ‘We’ve got to put a hit on that guy.’ “
Same shite, different dressing.

I agree. I think we all agree that the Saints were made an example, right?
Where I disagree is from Saints fans stating they didn't do anything wrong.
Maybe a bad example but it's like speeding. It's a lame arse rule put in place by the authorities to try and prevent casualties or injuries. However, sometimes someone gets popped and has to pay that speeding ticket in a school zone to be made the example.
By the letter of the law, the speeder "broke" the law.

I love that the Saints are so far in your head that you come here and type out that long arse post like anyone gives a shite.
It was a 3 min. long youtube clip that took me about a minute to type and post. I'll round up and say 5 minutes to do everything.

No problem. I like arguing with people that don't make counter arguments... or really even any argument instead trying to take weak personal shots.

Oh and congrats on the Superbowl runner-up.
Hey thanks. We were close. You guys will get back there one day too. Keep up the faith.
ETA: Did you actually have any comments or arguments in regards to the original post or can we conclude that I'm right?

Yea, I win. No counter arguments.
I thank Goodell for cracking down on that illegal bounty program.

"kill the head and the body will die" is a phrase that has been around forever, often used in boxing. In fact I had a coach use that term before as well. It doesn't mean what you or any of the other sheep think it means. And please find me evidence of a pay to INJURE program. It is known that they had a pay for play program. But how come out of all of the pages and pages and pages of evidence no one, including you, has seen it? OMG they had a frickin shitty power point.
-Why were they one of the least penalized teams?
-Why if they were trying to actually hurt players, did injuries occur against the Saints at league average?
The cover up did them in. Do I believe it was some somewhat sketchy shite going on? Yes. But I do not believe Saints players were actually going out there trying to injure opposing teams. The Saints were the scapegoat to the concussion obsessed NFL.

There was no trial. Nothing was ever proven.
Goodell used hearsay to frick our entire organization to make it seem like he gave a shite about player safety.
We can play the victim card because he crippled our organization. The former NFL commissioner even spoke out against how he handled the whole situation.
I will agree with you though that we should have been punished because we were illegally paying players based on performance and fostering a culture that did not care about player safety. But do you actually believe that the punishment we received was even remotely fair? (Please answer this if you respond)
Head coach suspended a year
Loss of 2 second round draft picks
Defensive coordinator suspended indefintely
Two additional assistant head coaches partially suspended
Multiple player suspensions
Etc.
We were obviously doing something wrong but if we had been given a fair trial it would have been clear that it was no where near as bad as goodell made it out to be. He used us as a scapegoat for concussions and he did at the height of our franchise. He possibly took away a championship from us. There's your counter argument.
