Seems injury prone and though he is talented , we already have three solid backs in the Thomas, Ivory and Sproles rotation.

Not saying Mark will be going anywhere, but what do y'all think?

another piece of evidence that most posters with the word "tiger" in their name, are complete retards when it comes to the Saints (except TSA)

You're right, we traded back into the 1st round to grab him only a year ago. Who cares if he is a multi-talented back or that he has a multi-year deal with us, ship him off to some place for a 5th round pick.

Seriously?! Come on now, if we lose any of our backs, it will be Ivory.

We are never going to be a one back team, thats not our offenses style . To give away our 1 pick for him when we had pierre ivory and sproles in the fold. i have never questioned our front office evaluations, but this move i thought was terrible when we did it on draft day!!! Hell the # 20 we had on our practice squad was better than the rolltawd heisman winner, i forget #20 name good back.

I'm just saying we could trade him for a good defensive player to a team that is hurting for a young running back. We are fine with Ivory Thomas and Sproles. 2011 is evidence. Hell, as long as Nicks comes back I could be 3rd in the NFC in rushing behind our monstrous o line

I'm going to defer to Chad on this.

We drafted Ingram bc the saints were calling me at the end of the previous season to play running back. Only been a year and lest we forget that running back injuries could be the achilles heel to another super bowl run.

What happens when/if PT goes down this season? Thomas turns 28 this year. Not ancient, but he's taken his fair share of hits and has had his fair share of injuries. Sproles will be 29...... Or......Maybe Ivory tweaks an ankle. Ingram would be a solid running back if not a star in a different system.

It's only been one year, and considering we like to split carries between 30 backs, he didn't too badly his rookie season.

I'd like to keep him. We are one or two more freak injuries away from our 2010 running back situation.

Still a first rd pick is a waste on a part time running back. Oh yea with all the if 's you know the saying, " if my aunt had nuts , she would be my unlce". Injuries can happen to all teams, and most of their 3 and fourth backs on the team are not even 3rd pics. And we only run like 35% of the time ,while Drew is at the helm. Still a wasted 1rd. pick in my retarded head.

Well it is what it is. Maybe they were of the understanding that one of our injured backs wasn't going to recover as well as they have. There are a plethora of reasons that could exist as to why they did what they did for Ingram.

I know the whole "ifs" ordeal and perhaps moving up to get him instead of waiting wasnt the best choice, however.....you can't deny the 2010 season.

Could we have waited....probably. But at this point I'm not pissed at the pick and I certainly don't want to deal him out after only ONE YEAR in the league and our system, for far less value.

I agree with you, i wouldn't deal him now the value would be too low for us. Just with all the Emitt Smith comparisions, i iust don't see it. But i'm willing to wait another year, but i don't see more than 650 maybe 700 yds. (if he stays healthy) He won't get enough touches in this offense we run. Drew might even break his own yardage record next year.

Blues what is your opinion on Ingram ?

Fair assessment. I just wish we could see Ingram carry the rock 75% of the time. I think he'd tear it up.

Hey i just worked out this great theory in my head, we should trade mark ingram to the ravens and get ray lewis, and hire 228tiger to replace him since he is the next coming of Barry Sanders with an offensive line, but the best part about it is im going to start a thread on tigerdroppings about it.

If your saying we should trade the guy we spent a 2nd round pick on, since that is really what we gave up, then you can talk to Ari Gold
