I think having Glen Dorsey would only improve our team. This man has the heart of a Lion. He only needs a team that can utilize him.

And while I won't pretend to have watched a single KC game this year, from what I've read, Dorsey's play significantly improved, unlike another certain DT drafted that year who basically didn't do jack shite this year.
Dorsey had 50 tackles and one sack last year, which were significantly worse numbers than Anthony Hargrove. Ellis had less tackles but more sacks even though he played in six less games than Dorsey.
Glenn has 2 career sacks in 31 games - he also came into the league fat and has stayed that way. He isn't worth anything near a 2nd round pick at this point.

Honest question and I am not trying to be rude:
If Dorsey didn't go to LSU, would you be interested?
not trying to be rude, but why do saints fans on this board get so pissy about fans wanting to see some of their favorite players in a saints uniform?
if you don't think Dorsey is a good fit then just say so. don't act like this guy is a jerk for asking a question.

sacks isn't that big of a deal for a DT. I'm more worried about Glenn being a worse version of Sed, which we don't need another. We need a big, fat, space eating DT

Because it's constant usually pretty idiotic - "what the sanits need to do is trade colston for micheal clayton and reggie for kevin faulk what do yall think????"
It gets tiresome

You can't compare a 3-4 end's numbers to a 4-3 DT's numbers.

I'm not going to disagree with you really, but if Dorsey had more sacks than Ellis at this point it would probably have been mentioned a dozen times in the first two pages of this thread.
Ellis has been statistically superior to Dorsey pretty much across the board, despite having played in about 10 less games due to the knee.

He's only been an underwhelming DE for one year, prior to that he was an underwhelming DT

For the 14,945,949,322 time we need to pair up Sed with a Run stuffing DT.
Furthermore, Hargrove is essentially the same player as Dorsey (and is more proven if he continues on the right path of life). I been VERY content with Hargrove.
So what is the point of bringing Dorsey on board?

I've changed my mind and now disagree with you, especially considering the fact that Dorsey was a top 5 pick who was going to be the next Warren Sapp.
He's been a huge disappointment thus far and there's no way around that.

And for those of you who want to bash Ellis for some idiotic reason, I have to point out that the collapse of our run defense pretty much coincided with his knee injury

Run defense was garbage in the playoffs, especially considering Indy was one of the worst running teams in the NFL. I know Ellis made a few plays this season, but I honestly can't think of any. I think he will improve if he gets someone like Dan Williams next to him, or even if we get Clancy back and he plays like he did last year, but let's not act like Ellis has been some great player for us.

Honest question.. Is there any reason that you couldn't move grant inside? The guy weighs what 290 now, put 10 to 20 pounnds on him and move him to tackle..it's not like he's tearing it up at end!

and yet you wanna act like Glenn Dorsey would be an improvement? Despite the fact that Ellis has 3x the sacks in 10 less games?
I don't think Ellis was ever 100% after the knee injury. To say that Dorsey would be an upgrade is simply laughable.
