this dude is a freak. he's 6'7'' 245, former WR. his numbers arent overwhelming, but they're solid, 12.5 total sacks the last 2 years. he's still learning DE and reminds me of Aldon Smith, he looks like a guy who will flourish into elite after some pro coaching. thoughts?

This is part of the damn problem with this team. The FO keeps drafting Athletes or freaks(projects) instead of drafting frickin football players

245 is dang lite to hold up the end position in the NFL.
Don't mean he ain't a baller but the kid needs to play opposite C Jordan.

he's in the conversation if at the lower end of pick range. 5-11= about #6, 8-8= about #16

A lot of upside potential that looks a lot better in the second half of the 1st Rd

That said, by the conclusion of the Combine I don't doubt he could be "can't pass on" material.

There's a reason the Saints haven't drafted an elite pass rusher. For proven products they're gone fast. Even the project types keep going higher. Pierre-Paul and Bruce Irvin are the best examples.

I watched him a bit at Oregon and I agree with this:

He did play hurt this year, but I do think he'll be a good pro.

Spagnuolo will make him into a monster if we draft him.

I haven't seen much film for him.

I want us to get Bjoern Werner though. The guy is an absolute MONSTER.

He's not a one trick pony, the guy actually played a decent amount of CB on slot WRs. When he played with a hand down, he often played LDE, so Oregon clearly had confidence in his run stopping abilities. 12.5 sacks in the past 2 seasons is solid, but not super impressive. I wouldn't mind if we took a chance on him, but I think that there will be surer things at LB/OT/DT if we draft in the 10-15 range.

I'm pretty sure that he'll be gone by the time we pick unless we lose the rest of our games. I think he's the best defensive player in this draft.
