Did NBC just report that Raheem Morris is leading candidate in Atl if Bill goes to Dallas?

Morris is a better head coach than Allen.

Morris’ record is 21- 38 (.356) while Allen’s is 24- 46 (.343). He led a Josh Freeman Buccaneers team to 10 wins. He became interim coach of a winless falcons team after Dan Quinn was fired and reeled of 4 wins, including the Saints who won the Division that year.

I’m not saying he is Bill Parcells, but he’s a much better option than Allen.

That is a bad hire. He is at best a .500 coach and hasn’t even proven that.

Hence why I said 2023 Morris

He was clearly not ready in 2009. He's done a little bit since then.

He's been the DC of 2 Super Bowl champs, including the Rams. He's done a great job with a completely rebuilt D this year who is fully of 1st and 2nd year nobodies drafted in the 3rd round or later.

Coordinators of Super Bowl winners get high on the list for head coach vacancies

Since his first stint in Tampa, he's coached directly under Kyle Shanahan (WRs coach and passing game coordinator in ATL for the Matt Ryan MVP season) and been promoted to DC in ATL. And he was hired as DC for LA and was their DC when they won a title.

Funny enough, he was DBs coach while Bobby Slovik (yes, that one) was LBs coach in WAS. That WAS team has insane coaching talent on offense:

Kyle Shanahan
Matt Lafleur
Sean McVay
Mike McDaniel

Not sure what’s so funny.

Morris was defensive coordinator for a Super Bowl team. Allen cant say that. We know Allen can’t build a winning team and he can’t maintain a winning culture. That’s the world we live in today. Morris couldn’t build a winning team when he was in his early 30s. Is he better after a decade and a half of experience? I don’t know. But he has potential where Dennis Allen is one of the worst NFL coaches of all time right now.

Again, not saying Morris will be a good coach or bad coach. Just saying he is a better option than Allen.

And let’s be honest. None of us know if a coach will succeed or fail as a head coach. Ben Johnson is the hot name at the moment, but he might be a meek personality that NFL players won’t respect. Or maybe he’s a taskmaster that players will hate. Maybe he won’t be as good if he doesn’t have an all pro OT in Sewell, 2 great RBs, an all pro TE and 3 Uber talented WRs. Maybe he goes to talent deprived Carolina and does worse than Frank Reich. Nobody knows.

DA doesn't have the resume post-first job that Morris does. How many titles was he a part of? Allen went literally straight from Oakland to NO. And his time away from being a head coach is right at half as what Morris's would be if he were hired.

I was also willing to see if he had learned his lessons and he clearly has not.

I mean he has the 3rd best winning percentage in Saints history. I hate that you are making me defend him
But RIGHT NOW he is not one of the worst coaches of all time

Yeah exactly.

Take away both of their first stint failures and compare the resume. Why would Morris not be seen as a vastly superior option?

You say no one knows how they'll work out, and also say that he's a better option than Allen. Perhaps you should've said no one, but me knows how they'll turn out

Going all in preflop with AA is the best option in Hold Em. Does that best decision possible always win the hand? No.

They seem to be similar coaches to me. Firing Allen for Morris seems like weird decision to me.

I honestly don't know how they are shitting on Raheem Morris.

He was so young when he had that Tampa job. Guy is a great coach and super smart. Players love him and play hard for him.

He might fail again but there is no way to know that.

We know what Allen is. His team literally lead a mutiny to end the season. I thought it was a lazy hire, but was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for his second go round as a head coach. It’s been an abject failure.

Allen’s stint at Oakland ended 8 years before he was named head coach again. Morris’ stint as a head coach for Tampa Bay was 12 years ago.

Nobody has ever said Dennis Allen will be a good head coach while guys like Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, Mike Tomlin, Aaron Donald, Andrew Whitworth, Jalen Ramsey, and Bobby Wagner are stumping for Morris.

LINK

I’m not saying he will be a great head coach. He wouldn’t be my first option as coach and I’d be underwhelmed if we hired him this year with the other candidates out there. But he’s got a lot more going for him than Dennis Allen.
