Everything that this team faced this year and overcame, to have it come down to L.A. blowing that lead, I get the sense that was possibly the final nail in the coffin for his decision.
I hope those motherf.ckers get crushed in the Superbowl.

No. Refusing to move the Dolphins game after moving the Rams game a week earlier and then changing COVID protocol less than 24 hours later told Payton they the NFL was never going to give him a fair chance to win in NOLA.

And that’s not even getting into the 49ers “miracle comeback” against the Rams.

.

The things wrong with this quote and the general "the nfl against Payton "
1

If it is because the "nfl is not going to let Payton win" was why, he wouldn't have left the door open to return to coaching.
Now some actual reasons:
1. His hall of fame quarterback is gone.
2. He wants the Dallas job and that's not open this year.
3. He isn't going to make his overall record look worse by staying here another year knowing he is ready to jump ship.

4. New wife, boat loads of money, a year off to get his life, house and everything together to the city he is moving to

I don't think so.

You think about decisions like this for a long time. I'm sure CSP did too.

Winning doesn't cure burnout...just may delay it.

Like myself I'm sure many on TD have walked away from a good job for a variety of reasons and you just can't do it any more.

I think Drew leaving had the biggest influence on his timing.

His new wife knew that we knew she met SP while banging Kenny Chesney.

Who was banging KC? I always assumed he was ghey and that was the “fraud” part of his marriage with the “you had me at hello” woman

Starting QB goes down early in the season, MT ongoing vagina injury, Covid BS…counting on making the playoffs in a season like that? I don’t think he is that unrealistic

No, living in a city more dangerous than Beirut with a new wife that wanted no part of it is what caused him to leave.

He knew he’d never be a success without Brees

That’s the reason

Payton left because he didn't want to coach the saints anymore because Brees was gone and he was gonna get exposed for being a shitty coach, so he gonna go where the team stacked so he looks better, bottom line

If you think he’s a shitty coach you probably think taysom is a Franchise Qb.

And the reasons I listed are still valid and more credible than "the nfl is screwing the saints/payton"
