The reason the refs didn't call that is because #91 could have blown Manning the frick up and did not.

I don't know if Manning could have tackled Porter as Porter was running fast past Manning

from where Manning was on that play when he was blocked he has no shot to tackle Porter 1000000/1000000 times

According to the NFL rule-book, its a clean hit. The worst part was Mannings acting ability, way worse than any commercial he's shot. He turns his back in a weak attempt to draw the flag. When he doesn't get the flag for block in the back, he tries to get the ref to call a flag on the return for taunting, which some people saw and misinterpreted as a middle finger to Sharper.

This is from the official NFL rulebook which can be found online:
quote:

Legal Block

Blocking is the act of obstructing or impeding an opponent by contacting him with a part
of the blocker’s body.
A Block in the Back is a block that is delivered from behind an opponent above his waist.
It is not a block in the back if:
(a) the opponent turns away from the blocker, or;
(b) if both of the blocker’s hands are on the opponent’s side.

Its not a block in the back. Manning turned away from the blocker in an attempt to draw the flag, this is clearly visible on the replay.

agreed...it was a clean hit and that pic and rules confirm it. And to the OP, do you not know who #91 is?

I've watched that play over and over. The funniest part to me was Sharper running past Manning and yelling something at him. (Probably had something to do with Jamie Sharper).
