I live and work in Dallas and my entire office seems to be fully aware of what's about to happen Thursday Night. They're not even pretending the Cowboys have a chance to win.

I like our chances as no one has yet to figure out a formula on how to derail the Saints.

What do you mean? The cowboy's message board revealed the formula:
1. Run the ball and control the clock. Keep Brees on the sideline.
2. Pressure Brees and make him turn the ball over.
3. Protect Dak and let him have time to throw.

I think that's pretty good but its also the same as 10 other teams have tried and failed to do.

La rams with Gurley struggled to do this.

Better pressuring teams failed to do this. Maybe you best Bushrod like a drum? Maybe.

Vic fricking Beasley tore his arse up.

I've been listening to The Fan radio station in Dallas and not only have they talked themselves into winning Thursday, but they talked themselves into having a shot at the Super Bowl and Zeke being MVP.

And this beauty from the cowboyzone.com:

Time to sack up. Look, this Cowboy team is not a slouch... I repeat... No slouch. And the Saints are not the '72 Dolphins or the '07 Pats. I believe defensively we can and will hold our own. On offense it boils down to smash mouth possession style football and limiting scoring opportunities. A solid running game and solid defense travels well during this stretch of the season, but we are at home, where we are 4-1 AND have played better at AT&T by leaps and bounds this season in particular. I'd call that a "home field advantage"

Our team has pride, is just as young and hungry and gets paid an NFL salary just as New Orleans does.
No blows out this thursday. This team does not quit on each other or their coaches, no matter how boneheaded the play calling gets.

I see a-buck 10 for Zeke. Coop 7-10 for 105 and a td and for the coup de gras... a punt return to score or setup a td...

Brees and Payton vs the Cowboys

5-2 W/L
71% Comp %
6:1 td-int ratio (18-3)
367 ypg Avg. Lowest 298 highest 446

Not saying it's a given we win, but I like.our chances.

I’m at the star right now. I’ll see if they have a playbook anywhere.

Seattle, Carolina, or Minnesota

I could see them snaking one from Car if they are at home, even though Car beat them in Car. I still doubt it.

Sea and Minny? Absolutely not. Minny would destroy them, and Sea beat them by 11 already (don't care where it was played; Sea would still beat them).

Now if they got to play GB or Colt lead Skins or someone shitty like that then sure.

There is literally one team Dallas beat by two scores or more, and that was an imploding Jags team. There other wins (all by 8 or less)? Giants, Lions, Eagles, Falcons, and Redskins.

The last three they played them while those teams were decimated with injuries and still barely won.

They barely beat the Lions by 2 in Dal.

They freaking lost to the Titans by 14 in Dal right before their "winning streak".

This is a fake "contender" about to get beat the frick down against a very legit team.

And if you bring up 09, that Dallas team could actually compete and we didn't give any help on Ware damn near the entire game. He destroyed us.

Payton has never made that mistake again (only other person to do that to us has been Watt and it was against an injured Strief, but we did try to give him help). If a guy is struggling he adjusts quickly.

Lol Carolina does not have a solid defense. They are just living on reputation to people right now.

Yeah that D started to go when McDermott left. This year they are imploding. Not TB bad, but still bad.

Dallas was the one that ended our undefeated streak and made us have a losing one back in 2009.

I only count it as a 2 game losing streak since we clinched with minnys loss after the Bucs game and rested the starters vs Carolina.

I have a co-worker & friend who is a UT grad and Cowboys fan. He's a lot more realistic. He was here in my office a little while ago trying to get me to give him 13 points.

their score prediction thread

I kind of like their prediction "game". Let's Play:

quote:

Now up to 3 in a row and the big, bad Saints coming to town.

The point system
10 points - Picking the correct game winner
5 points - Exact score bonus for getting both teams' scores exactly right
3 points - Close score bonus for being within 3 points of both teams' scores
2 points - Bonus question 1 (usually more skill than luck)
2 points - Bonus question 2 (usually more luck than skill)?

To play this week, you give me this:

1. Dallas vs. New Orleans game score
2. Bonus 1: What will be the longest pass play of the game (within 7)
3. Bonus 2: Total number of 1st Down runs/catches by Zeke and Kamara combined (within 2)

Picks are due by posted game time of 7:20 P.M. Central this Thursday. If you need to change any part of your pick, make a new post instead of editing your old one or your update won't count as I only go back to where I left off gathering entries.

38-24, Saints
Bonus 1: Longest pass = Brees to MT: 40 yard TD
Bonus 2: 12 combined 1st downs b/w Zeke and AK.
