Great numbers putting up that with top 5 worst O line. And playing several solid defenses like the bears and colts twice. All doing this without a premier WR1.
On top of this he was graded the 3rd best QB on the year. Only behind Rodgers and Mahomes. And leads Josh Allen and Tom Brady who are behind. Guess what all those QBs are playing in the Conference Championship next week except Watson.

Deshaun Watson would fit well in this offense because he’s literally Taysom Hill and Drew Brees combined into 1
I know this has been said but I can’t express it enough that we should be on the phone with Watson’s agent or something rn.

To make it work they would have to send Thomas and a couple firsts. I’d support it but we would lose the number one receiver. Watson can have a much larger impact than Thomas can ever have.

We can’t afford him. This is a pipe dream. The Saints are riding with Jameis

Yea, like I said Watson put up these numbers without a Top WR. So send Thomas away.

If we keep Harris, Callaway, Sanders, Smith
And add in a cheap WR like Stills
In FA. That would be good enough. O line would stay in tact and we would still have Kamara and solid defense pieces.

I'm assuming it's nearly impossible to fit him in with our cap situation.

Saints gonna have to ride out the next two years with either Jameis or Taysom. Payton will have to find a competent QB in that span barring either one panning out. The Saints will have to get through this cap situation that these Brees contracts created.

Loomis has done more with less before. I trust in this front office for rebuilding the future of this team.

He's worked a lot of magic, he's never done anything remotely on this level of being $100mil over the cap and adding a contract of Watson, so he really hasn't done more with less.

Well we would have to let a lot of players go.
Lattimore Hendrickson Cook
I think Murray is done with his contract as well. It can be done. But we won’t have the guys like the last 3 years to help this team out.
It’s a lose lose situation. But with Watson atleast we have our future in place. All we would have to do is get a another solid roster in place to support him.

Chiefs will run into this problem with Mahomes you guarantee it. When all those players contacts end and get old an not play the same they will lose several good players. But Still have Mahomes.
That’s kinda the situation the saints would be in with Watson if we get em.

Every year this board tells me our cap hell won't allow any moves to happen. Every year Loomis makes them happen.

It's as if this board knows less than Loomis about manipulating the cap. Shocker!

It's simple: If the Saints want Watson, they will make his salary work within the cap. They will find a way. Us telling them they can't won't change that

Oddly enough I think the Saints would have been the best team in the NFL this year with a guy like Fitzpatrick

Saints run game and defense were legit. But you cant survive in the playoffs without the threat of a 20 yard pass

Yeah but the setback with the cap was that it didn’t increase because of covid. That put them in a situation they didn’t plan for. There are going to have to be some cuts made on players we would like to keep
