Same talking point but know that this consistency of fumbling never happened under CSP. There’s clearly a lack of urgency when coaching players to hold onto the ball and you know it

It’s like WR drops. You can prepare the players in a way that prevents this. It’s coaching when it’s a multiple situations.

These are essentially the same players under Payton did they forget how to hold on to the ball since Payton was such a great teacher of that??

It’s a result of the overall lack of focus and accountability. Players focus more in the little things when there is a culture of accountability. DA is a substitute teacher.

It feels like we’ve had a fumble when driving in opponent territory/RedZone almost every game. I feel like that never happened under Payton. There’s clearly a huge difference somewhere and it starts with the idiot head coach.

I watched the entire Payton era and it happened just as much under Payton. We also had a QB in Brees that held his offense accountable.

Olave should have just run out of bounds. He was trying to make a play that he really shouldn’t have tried. That was nothing on Allen

Allen teams are undisciplined and often lead the league in turnovers and penalties. It is what it is. CSP would have cut David Johnson after that fumble a few games ago. Allen gives him more PT. Get ready for more of it next year.

Got any stats whatsoever to back that up? No you don't.
The Saints are averaging 1.4 fumbles per game this season.
Under Payton there were 5 seasons worse and 1 the same.
2020 1.7
2006 1.6
2007 1.6
2009 1.5
2010 1.5
2014 1.4

They’re NFL players, most of them established veterans. How many ways can you possibly coach them to not fumble by this point. I hate Dennis Allen as a coach but at some point guys just need to be pros. Team fumbles are just going to have a lot of variance from year to year usually.

Doesn’t matter. Whether a fumble is recovered by the defense or not is mostly luck.

It’s almost like they forget the 7-9 season in ‘07, the 8-8 season in ‘08 and the three consecutive 7-9 seasons from 2014-16. All with a Hall of Fame QB.
By contrast, Mike Tomlin started in 2007, he also won a Super Bowl and he’s never had a losing season.
