Purely hypothetical and I'm a Spags fan

BUT

-Dennis Allen is canned in Oakland because they are a dumpster fire
-Payton returns
-Team and Spags part ways after historically bad defensive performance
-Allen, being a Payton guy, brought back to be DC

thoughts?

no, the guys on the defense are starting to finally buy into the system, I dont axe a defensive coordinator whenever he did not have his linebacking core until the 8th game of the year because the defense from there on out has played better because he can finally call blitzes and other crazy things on defense, they are mixing better and it will have a better success rate than with the core he had at the beginning of the year *cough*cough shanle and herring *cough*cough.

This is a non-starter. It is Allen's first year. The Raiders have been decimated by injuries and he (and Reggie McKenzie) had their hands tied by the work of Al Davis and the string of previous coaches. I think the Raiders will give Allen a chance (at least for next year) to turn it around.

And why would the Saints get rid of Spags so quickly? He came in without much ability to build the defense to fit his scheme and they have gotten better as the season has progressed.

Senseless! Have you not seen spags calling plays and adjustments on the sideline? Have you not seen the defense improving? Have you not seen the giants and rams defenses under spags? Do u not understand the lack of ability on the defensive roster? Keep spags dude is legit. Beside thee raiders are undisiplined and sometimes rogue.

I was looking at my SB Saints poster and saw the pic of Mr Sharper and realized what a rare steal that was for us. Spags just needs a couple of playmakers on the line and at free safety.
If I had my pick of any DC I would choose to give Spags another year and some bullets in the gun to work with.

I'll be pretty pissed if Spags gets sent packing after only one year is this extenuating of a circumstance. Yes the defense was absolutely horrible, but since the Philly game it's actually been pretty good. It's the reason we were even in the 2nd ATL and San Fran games. I love what Spags is willing to do that Williams never was and that was adjust.
Putting Harper down as a LB with IAQ at FS and then having Jordan and Smith in the middle with Wilson and Galette on the outside was pretty ingenious. Not to mention when Wilson stands up in the a gap and rushed has been very effective.

So long answer, I hope to hell not. Our defensive is looking promising for the first time in awhile

If the Saints made a change at DC I'd really hope they just blew it up and went to a 3-4 at this point.

Seems like they have personnel that better fits that anyway.

Spags is a good choice but not my first. I wanted and thought Del Reo had the job I think he just bought a condo in the warehouse district and his son goes to school somewhere in nola

How many rings does he have? How many championship defenses has he coached? How many dumpster fire, first year, non HC, NO LB coach, defenses has he turned around in a massive way this year? I think Spags beats him in all those categories.

Literally would be the stupidest move the franchise has made in over 7 years. I'd find it very hard to forgive benson and loomis for that one.

there has got to be a better DC if for some ungodly reason Spags doesnt come back than the Raider's DC.

can't get past a hypothetical in which I cannot imagine anything presented happening. Maybe I'm just not creative enough.

Look.

Spags is gone. Benson will can his arse after this awful season. Jerry Jones wants him. Spags will not be around next season. FACT.

You fruity sunshine pumpers need to accept this.
