I took that out my op. Now it's just a general statement.

At least you owned up to it.

The only thing I really saw tonight that had me mad at the defense was the busted coverage on that long arse TD pass. The fact that they blew a coverage that badly means they have something to work on. The rest of the yardage came on short little passes and was a result of the defensive scheme.

Saints, Greenbay, and the Patriots all say hi.

Cam Newton says what's up.

Saints @ Seattle say hey how's it going.

2007-2008 Saints say Yo! Here I am.

I said typically.. I remember seeing a stat about qb's that throw for 400 yards a game lose something like half of the time or something crazy. It actually makes sense. I wasn't using this against this year's Saints team.

Just like during our superbowl run. Our defense was great, but they still gave up a ton of passing yards in some games due to being up big.

Yea, that stood out to me. Every game is different and I hope they can catch some break when they need them.

I thought that the officiating was pathetic. Some horseshite calls kept drives alive for the Giants and they were able to score on some of them. Defense played pretty good but once we got the big lead in the second half it looked like they tuned out. Didn't look bad in run defense except for when Roman got trucked by that dumb oaf Brandon Jacobs.

The saints defense is often bend but don't break. It's really not that bad. Could use a few personnel upgrades.. I was actually very impressed with the run tackling tonight! and a linebacker made a key interception! That was clutch.

Wish I could get to a Saints game, haven't been to one since I was 10, all this moving every 3 to 5 years due to the military is killing me. I bet you had a great experience!

I thought there were some really bad unnecessary roughness calls. I haven't watched the NFL enough this year to know if this is a frequent event, but it is seems like it is becoming harder and harder to tackle anybody. LSUs D lays the wood like that on nearly every single play. NFL might have better players and might be more exciting to watch at times, but the rules are pussifying it so much that I am finding it hard to watch sometimes.

Oh yeah, there have been other games were it has been crappy, trust me. I said it in the game thread that I hope that crew does not call another game for us this year.

if the defense gets better, great, we all will be happy. But geesh, look at the ebb and flo of the game. I'll take the team that showed up tonight anytime against anyone. Including our defense, and including the packers

The D is just not good enough to reach the Big Game, IMO. Stats don't lie.

I am not going to entertain this any more. Our defense is better than the stats they produce. But here I go anyway...Look at our points allowed in the second half over the season. Overall, I bet most of the points scored by teams are after short field possessions or when the offense goes 3 and out. If the offense is doing its job then our defense is on top of things. It gets the rest it needs to stop the other team in its tracks. The first half of last night was a perfect example of that.

Someone needs to look up how our defense ranks against the run because we are demolishing any back. Our defense is BETTER than they appear on paper. You need to read between the lines!

You're right, stats don't lie.

People who interpret stats out of context do lie, however.
