In a zone scheme maybe. Never in a man scheme...

He's been playing man and doing ok. I just don't see how you can generalize it like that.

Cushing or Matthews would have been sweet.

Because hes slow as frick trying to keep up with any receiver running a vertical route. He ran a 4.6 in the combine. Any receiver in a straight up foot race is going to leave him...he needs Safety help or go up against slow arse receivers.

Have you not been watching the games?

He'd be perfect in a zone scheme. You don't have to be fast. I'd like to see him in a Cover 2 system. He played zone coverage in college too. Hes completely out of position in Williams system. He needs to be moved to FS in the offseason.

he looked every bit of that 4.6 40 when he was getting beat nearly every play by a TE.

I don't even think I've heard of a CB with that speed getting drafted in the first round in the past 8 years. Moving to Safety maybe or in a zone scheme...but definitely not man coverage...

I don't care if he has perfect technique on a fast receiver...hes going to leave him in a foot race every time on vertical routes. Hell, Jenkins could be looking a lot worse right now. Several times this year QBs were over throwing the WRs and Jenkins was at least 5 yards behind them...hes played worse in coverage than just the past few games...

I didn't like the pick and I still don't like it. Always thought he was overrated at OSU. But to be fair...I didn't like Cushing either and it was mostly from his steroid rumors.

I have. He didn't really good against Welker. He handled Bryant admirably against Tampa the first game. He got beat in Wash, but so will alot of corners. He isn't that bad. Winslow beat him but he was there on every play. Good throw and good catch. The one long one, Sharper was over the top and misplayed it.

He played good against Welker but in all honesty..it wasn't all him. And Welker was running a lot of underneath patterns...

I think Jenkins would make a good FS for us, I just think hes completely out of position in our scheme as a CB.

Now...if the Saints were to play more zone, I'd be comfortable with seeing what he could do at CB. But I doubt they do that considering how good Porter/Greer are in man.

Maybe so. Time will tell. The great thing is we don't have to find out with Porter and Greer playing well and Sharper having found the fountain of youth (through the first 11 games at least). We'll see.

You act like the differnce between a 4.4 and 4.6 is getting "burnt". It's half a fricking step. Skills and luck carry more weight than half a step.

I ran like a 9 or something...I wouldn't know what a 4.6 or 4.4 looked like.

if you break it down, a 4.6 compared to a 4.4 , over 40 yards is a seperation of 0.005 seconds every yard ran. On a 20 yard route Jenkins in still with the receiver. The seperation would come on a go route. There's no way his speed is limiting his ability. Call it weak coverage ability or weak ball skills. Just don't say he's too slow.
