quote:

I’m guilty of it,” Carter said.  “It’s the first time I’ve ever admitted it.  But I put a bounty on guys before.  I put bounties on guys.  And the guys tried to take me out, a guy tried to take a cheap shot on me, I put a bounty on him, right now.”

“A money bounty?” Mark Schlereth asked.

“Absolutely,” Carter said.

All former players should come forward and do it soon.

Is there a bounty hunters trade association? I would seriously consider changing their job title to something less gay.

ETA: Also I haven't seen anything that proves any of the Saints players put "bounties" on any players.

Maybe, somehow all of the whining Viking fans will read that article.

He played for the Eagles. Buddy Ryan put $50k on Zendejas. Airbody knew this already.

he specifically mentions his time with the Vikings, unless Randy Moss and Cullpepper were his teammates in Philly

Whether or not Cris, or any other person put money on players doesn't concern me. All I care about is if the Saints did.

I didn't say he didn't do it while on the Vikings, but it should not surprise anybody because it's a famous story about the Eagles. I knew that shite in the early 90s. The NFL didn't crack down until 08. Is it a shock that he did this in 98 with the Vikings? No.

This is something we should keep in mind:
quote:

Carter explained that the bounty was “based on protection or big hit, excitement or helping your team win, it wasn’t to maim or hurt the dude.” And that sounds a lot like how the Saints would explain the use of bounties from 2009 through 2011, if any of them were to admit to it and/or if there were evidence of it.

Sounds to me like a pay-for-performance system, NOT a bounty system.

A lot of evidence points towards it being the same for the Saints.
