Could Dallas Turner be a better Zach Buan?

Obviously Turner is better than Buan but scheme wise for the Saint would he be a fit for the role Buan played last season and maybe more?

Turner can put his hand in the ground.

Baun has been used incorrectly for most of his career. I feel Allen finally found out that Baun thrives at getting to the QB.
He has a spot on this team. Was very disruptive down the stretch. Would be a mistake to let him walk like the 2 other players I won’t mention.

All correct. Now he is a free agent. I wish him well. Will end up in the South somewhere else but here.

Turner is like Granderson but better and more thuggish.

Interesting.
So a player from Alabama SEC Def player of the year and a sure fire first rounder is better than a player from Wyoming that was never drafted?
You may be right...and drunk

Well being that we just paid Granderson low end starting money and replace his exact role, see my point?

I think he deserves low end DE pay. Around 15th for all DE's last I looked.

Kearse of the Seminols or the edge rusher from lalatu Latu from UCLA would be my choice at 14 over Turner if No LT was worthy of the pick.

I think Turner is a true 3-4 OLB early on. Similar to Suggs, if he gains 15LBS, he could hold the end.

I agree with this. He did come on late in the season when he was used to his strengths and that will get him some FA attention. The Saints should look at keeping him but that shouldn't overpay for him and fwiw IMO someone will offer him more than the Saints should be willing to pay to keep him.

I like Verse and Latu and both fit the mold of the Saints typical DE/edge. I feel like Turner is the better athlete and though not in the typical mold of what the Saints look for in a edge rusher he could be used in a lot of different situations.
I'm unfamiliar with his ability to drop into coverage so that's a question and kind of why I was trying to see if he could fir into a hybrid role of what Buan was doing, though Buan wan't very capable as a coverage LB (Maybe you call that the Sam LBer role even though the Saints don't play traditional LBer sets)
