It is almost inevitable that Payton is grabbed up between now and the end of the year. Just way too much competition and parity in the league. Someone is going to pay big for his services.
Sorry for the blind links having wi-fi issues.

Weird to see asst coaches and Dline coaches fired mid season and just one week after HC.
Something must be really really rotten there.

Why would Payton want to make the move before the end of the season? More positions will open up once the season is over, and he most likely will also be able to talk to teams that still have a HC but, consider trading for Payton, once the season is done. Will maximize his leverage.

Of course, Saints leverage would be at their highest now, so a team can secure him before the other positions open. But, I am sure Payton has to agree to go to the team

If you want less competition for CSP you try before the last week or two.
If its a place he wants to go I don't think it matters when as long as the Saints get their price.

Good question.

If you are an owner that really wants his services are you going to wait around for someone else to snag him? The sooner the better for us.

A little off topic, but the Colts interim head coach is now Jeff Saturday . So strange.

Sean isn’t going to Carolina or Indy. He’s going to be very picky where he coaches next.

Agreed. He is looking for a big market team that will give him free reign.

I'm curious as to whether it's actually up to Sean where we trade his rights to.
