Why did 32 teams not draft him?

Maybe Collins is the f@cking stupid one for not choosing the Saints.

Actually we were both off. It was taken Thursday night. Before the 2nd round.

"NFL teams didn't care if Collins reportedly passed a lie detector test Thursday night, or that he and his attorney supposedly had been working the phones trying to convince NFL front offices he wasn't the father of Mills' child".

goatmiller-why choose to play for an organization that DON'T WANT YOU???? Hell, New Orleans is 70 miles from Baton Rouge and not ONE damn person from the Saints organization showed up to Baton Rouge to talk to La'el personally.

If the Saints were that interested in him don't you think they should have had inroads to La'el being their local?

Makes you wonder. Did the Saints try to do the same thing? I am guessing they did and Collins just wanted to get away.

Local marketing possibilities in a city with the size and wealth of Dallas must dwarf what is available in New Orleans. I am certain that is what the NYC teams were pitching him. "Sure, you will only make $600,000 per year in salary, but we can arrange it so that you make an extra 3 million a year in marketing agreements." Tons of money floating through that city.

As a FA, the Cowboys got a better lineman than the Saints got in Round 1. Nice job Saints.

Maybe the Saints are the fricking stupid ones for not pursuing Collins. I am a die hard fan but don't like the direction of this team. And Sean Payton gets a pass for 2009 season.

Along with 2006, 2010, 2011, and 2013.

Do tell about the direction we're heading though? The same people who built the best era in Saints history are the same ones running the show

Was it a bluff?

“We can put it on the record now: We were never going back in the draft,” Smith says of waiting for the 2016 draft. “If someone had drafted him, we would’ve had a long, long discussion about it, but at the end of the day you can’t go back in the draft. He could get injured, gain weight, or 10 great tackles could come out. Too many risks.”

The agents narrow the list to a handful of teams, and then Collins cuts it down even more. He wants to be close to home, and he doesn’t want to be anywhere cold.

THIS again?! Man you are way too obsessed? Why are you frustrated by the Saints' failure to lock down a starting offensive guard for the next 15 yrs, when you should be concerned about what numbers our free agent signees will wear?

I know I won't. It was just so boneheaded beyond comprehension. If a talent like Collins is still sitting there in the 3rd round I'm taking him. I know people think his situation made him a risky selection but all draft picks are risky selections. Anyone can turn out to be a bust. There are no guarantees on Grayson or PJ Williams either. But in the 5th he's still on the board? Holy cow, how can you pass on him, unbelieveable. Then again in the 7th, got to be shitting me. Between Peat and Collins, could have solidified our oline for years to come. High potential for elite play at OG with Collins. An o-line featuring Collins, Peat, Unger, Evans and Armstead with Strief as a key backup would have been epic. Let it slip away for no good reason along with one last shot at a super bowl with Brees at QB.
