Point is that Rodgers is 6 years younger. It being either/or is a compliment to Brees because it's 50/50 which just means hes that good.

on a EDIT: I would still pick Brees, I'm a Saints fan. While Rodgers has more years, it's not 100% that he will turn out good, even though he LOOKS IT.

Plus hes a Viking at heart.

He's clearly taking Rodgers' age into consideration... It's a pretty logical answer if ya ask me...

Rodgers will be the best QB in the league starting in about 2 years... I love Drew Brees but he isn't getting any younger and Rodgers seems to just get better and better and better every damn day... He's my number 2 QB in the league and he's almost up there with Brees in my eyes.

If I wasn't biased and had to choose a QB, it would be Rodgers.

Rodgers learned a lot watching Favre all those years, if he was thrown to the wolves like Harrington was in Detroit, people wouldn't be singing or praising him now!

True, no QB who comes in and starts right away can be successful.

I remember this kid named Peyton Manning. Started as a rookie and threw 28 INTs. Poor guy, wonder what ever happened to him.

yeah he's dumb

i like when they say "if you're starting a team". well you want to win now, not in 5 years, so take the better player. in that case it's brees. 7 years of a top 1 qb or 15 of a top 5, hmmmm...

Sanchez has no place in this controversy. The Jets would've made the playoffs with a stale loaf of bread at QB. The made the playoffs in spite of his play.

As far as everyone talking about CC hating on the Saints, I dunno about that, but he was on M&M last Friday also, and when asked his SB picks for this season, he not only picked the Saints, but argued vehemently for them.

if you are comparing Rodgers to Peyton Manning that in it's self is assinine! Peyton learned from his rookie year and went on to become the dominant QB he is.

Rodger's on the other hand watched Favre on the sidelines for awhile and learned, if he had to start right away like Harrington did in Detroit his arse would be out the league also from being shell shocked from hearing footsteps. Instead, he watched and learned the biz from one of the best QB's in the game.

link?

Maybe Harrington just sucked, ever think of that? VY and Ben the Rapist started as rookies and are doing OK. So did Eli and lots of other guys. Rodgers didn't so what. Did that help? Maybe so, but to say he wouldn't be in the league if he had to start as a rookie is laughable and just stupid speculation on your part.

I'd take Rodgers over Brees for sure. Maybe even Matt Ryan depending on how he plays this season.

Having 6 or 7 extra years is huge.

I heavily value age though - I'd have definitely taken Brees over Manning as far back as 2 seasons ago.

I actually asked a friend this last night and I might have to go with Rodgers, strictly on the age thing.

I'll seriously doubt Montana could have done what Marino did with Miami. If you're giving me the 49er's D, Bill Walsh etc, I'd take Montana over Marino, cause he fits that offense better. But in general, IDK.

Montana owned the big games. He almost took that sorry chiefs team to the limit.

Marino, great thrower but not even in Montanas league as a quarterback, not close! IMO

Let me know when Rodgers wins a playoff game...and Greenbay's overrated Defense stops giving up 50+ pts to elite offenses...<just to throw that in there :D>

I'll take a proven winner in Brees and win NOW plus a few more Super Bowls and then in 3 - 4 yrs draft his protege'.... I'll worry about 6 - 7 years down the road when the time is right...

Yep its all QB skill that made the 49er's defense >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Miami's. Alos if he played with Montana I'm sure Mark Duper would be the GOAT and we wouldn't know who Jerry Rice is.

Montana had way more talent around him and frankly better coaching.

They lost the AFC CG 30-13. Or are you suggesting that along with the 83 and 1990 NFCCG were not "big games"? I guess the 1986 divisional game vs the Giants that SF lost 49-3 was not a big game either? And the 87 divisional game vs Minnesota when Joe Cool was yanked for Steve Young was not a big game either huh?

Its a team game, Montana played on much better teams. Switch QB's before SB XIX and SF still wins big.
