Can you recall a similar NFL situation like this, with this level of weird courting?

this level of courting happens in the NBA (re: Kawhi)...

But I cannot recall a situation like this in the NFL.

A guy under contract for several years, coming off extreme controversy, with teams courting him openly and meeting with him, him demanding presentations and meetings with owners for days and days, him wanting a new contract despite already having one that lasts for 4 years I think...

And the situation stretching out for an entire 7 day period at least while the rest of the league just sits on hold?

its pretty weird.

This is what happens when you let players have some control. If it was up to the team then he would have been traded. Also shows how idiotic some of the players are. Watson is trying to go to a team that is terrible with no talent when legit contenders wanted him.

Not for a trade. Some FA stuff (like Peyton Manning) has been pretty elevated with the courting but never a trade.
