And you know what? i AM rooting against meachem now. frick him. We don't need him anyway

with that comment, the little respect i had for you, i lost, you are a complete dick.....why is meachem a bust? Moore wasn't so great his 1st couple seasons, and now look at him. Meachem deserves the same amount of time.

Ummmm no, he doesn't. Have you forgotten that Moore was an undrafted free agent and Meachem was a 1st round draft pick??

Lance Moore is 25 years old and Robert Meachem is 24. It's not like Meachem is some young buck and Lance is a seasoned vet. Lance is 5'9 185 with average speed. Meachem has twice as many tools but doesn't get the job done.

I'm not saying he's a bust, but Meachem isn't gonna be a very big asset for us ever. I really don't know how people can't see that. Colston isn't going anywhere, Moore is obviously one of Brees' favorite targets, then having guys like Reggie, Shockey, and Billy Miller will take playing time away from him.

So, if Meachem picks it up next year, has 50 catches, 500 yards, 5 tds, is he a bust?

No, but it's actually laughable thinking he's gonna do that. Before the season people were saying he was gonna put up those numbers and I laughed. I'm still laughing. He has 8 catches, and 6 or 7 of them are him just running past people which when having a good qb is one of the easier things to do when you're really fast.

So he's gonna go from dressing out 0 games, to dressing out 13 games or so with 8-10 catches, then he's gonna have 50 catches...is that what I'm hearing?

Meachem is no worse than many of the Saints past 1st Round picks, which means he's pretty much a bust.

So would KC. That's why we didn't have a chance to draft him.

NFL receivers normally take three years to start to really contribute and become big time players in the league. Too early to call him a bust, but his resume so far points in that direction.

He's got alot of competition at his spot......though I agree a 25 catch season would not have been too much to ask. I just don't understand why a guy with his skill set can't get more done. If we don't resign Henderson then a 25 to 35 catch season as the #3 wide receiver will not be too much to ask next year.

I doubt Meachem is ever the first look on a play though. Drew usually gets rid of it before even looking to Meach's side the field. He was open several times last night and could have made plays...just no oppurtunites.

I like to see him actually get a chance in the game, not practice before i call him a bust. Right now it seems he ain't even gettin a shot. Everybody thought Jason David was a stupid move but did you see him play last night.

you couldnt see it on TV, but Meachem was open A LOT. really suprised Brees didnt take any shots to him. He was behind the secondary all night

Exactly...I saw at least two different occasions where Meach was wide open deep in the secondary. It could have translated easily into two TDs but Brees apparently preferred to make the short passes.
