New Orleans Saints defensive end Cam Jordan underwent an arthroscopic back procedure earlier this month, according to a report by The Bleacher Report on Sunday.
The surgery isn't expected to impact his participation in 2016.
Jordan, 26, hasn't missed a game in five seasons with the Saints.
Jordan missed two practices early in the season with a back injury and then two more before the final game. But he never missed any action and participated in the Pro Bowl in late January. Jordan tweeted earlier this month about being on "bed rest," although he didn't mention the procedure.
The Bleacher Report said Jordan played through the injury in 2015 and opted to have it "cleaned up" after the Pro Bowl.

Great! As if having 3D O-arm, navigation and C-arms in the room along with the extra monitors, now we're going to have to start setting up scope towers and extra bags of fluids for arthroscopic procedures in the spine. I can see it now total spine fusion starting with an anterior body approach, flip do posterior and have all this equipment... gonna have to start knocking out walls and joining two ORs together.

You don't need a back to play football, right?

Saints running back C.J. Spillermay miss the entire preseason but should be back for the regular-season opener after arthroscopic knee surgery.

Wait does that mean that preseason Spiller is "The Real" Spiller or is that Spiller still TBD?

Man! I've been a surgery tech since 1990, and I ain' never heard of arthroscopic back surgery. I may have to look it up

Haha, I was coming in here to say the same thing, seems like a common thing now, to create a ambiguous medical term for reporting.
