That wasn't piling on, just unfortunate. The ball was on the turf, we would have been doing the same thing trying to dive in and dislodge or recover a ball. If Bush had caught the ball cleanly and gone down then it may have been called and more of a fining issue.

TO had a fractured fibula and severe ankle sprain on Dec. 19th and he had 9 catches for 122 yards on Feb. 6th in the super bowl.

While I agree that this is better than a torn ligament, the bone will not be stronger after the healed fracture. It will reach a max of about 80% strength over a lifetime.

exactly. Kind of wish it would have been a clean break.

Reggie has turned into the ultimate team player. If you watched last night everytime he went in motion SF had two defenders moving with him. He will be missed. Get well soon Reggie.

Only problem I have is it looked like the player dove towards Reggie's leg and not towards the ball. May have been just trying to knock him away from the fumble (which happens all the time, no problem with it) but it wasn't a case of someone piling on for a fumble.

While I am all for not rushing him back too early I do hope he has a speedy recovery and only takes 4 or 5 weeks. We could definitely use him against the Steelers monster defense, even if it is only as a decoy to draw defenders. Weeks 4-7 I am not really worried about missing him.

if it only takes 6 weeks, why did Mike Vick sit out a year andhave the owner wheeling him around in a wheel chair?

Not sure what happened with Vick, but there is always the chance of the syndesmosis being interrupted. That would slow down the healing process as well as the range of motion until the screw is removed.

like others have said,,,,so damn relieved it was this rather than his knee.. that shot of the fat arse 49-er sprawled on top of him and his leg twisted was sickening to watch and then him being carried off the field was a downer--i was prepared for far worse...he'll be back fot the playoffs.....

Watch the replay closely, I think you'll see it was dirty

Jesus we have some conspiracy theorists in here. It wasn't dirty. It was just an unfortunate occurrence. He fumbled so people piled up. Happens all the time
