For as smart as Drew is on the field, he makes some really fricking stupid decisions off it.
He got scammed by Kevin Houser on the film credits deal. He negotiated a shite deal for the players vin the last collective bargaining agreement (not all on him). He invests heavily in Jimmy Johns in New Orleans? WTFF? Was Red Lobster not accepting new franchise owners? The shitty Advocate crap he peddles.

Tom Brady doesn’t have to drop $8 million on rings because he plays for below market value, allowing his team to field a superior roster, and thus wins his rings for free.
Meanwhile Drew scrounges for every nickel to the detriment of the Saints roster and to top it off, he puts the hurt on local po boy shops so he can make an extra $25,000 per year per location slinging his shitty Yankee sarnies.

Brees wasn't buying this as something nice for the Mrs. He was buying diamonds as an investment. The jeweler told him they would go up in value in the next 15 or so years.
The value did not go up, it went down.
Brees comes out looking bad because an investment went south.
