I still respect him, because he was put in an impossible position for merely respecting his grandfather being a veteran in a fricking interview with Yahoo Finance.

Not saying I like Tom Brady, but he still embraces Trump publicly
Link? And nobody loves them some themselves more than Tom Brady except maybe Tim Brando. All his “sacrificing salary for the good of the team” was way overblown. No doubt he loves to win, but it’s as much for the glory of Tom Brady as his “team.” It was a long-term investment that paid off big-time. Example:
quote:
he just got a lifetime deal with Fox
That will turn out to be a terrible move for Fox. Tom Brady is not Peyton Manning. Brees sucks on tv admittedly. But Tom Brady has the personality of a cardboard cutout of a corpse. The novelty of tuning in to hear the great Tom Brady is gonna last about 6 games. FOX will regret,it, and Tom will quit because he won’t be able to handle the criticism.
And I’m not hating on Brady at all. He’s the GOAT. But this Brees criticism—especially relative to Brady—is absurd anywhere. On a fricking Saints message board, it’s goddamn sacrilegious.

Let’s be honest. I think the whole American flag situation has paralyzed Brees and his natural flow and personality. He received such a large fall out for an innocuous comment, he felt the need to overcorrect to save face with his African American teammates so he could play out 1 last season. Then his very large fanbase started hating and bailing out on him due to his panicked overcorrection even though most would have done the same in a similarly public situation. Now the man is paralyzed with a live mic in front of his face. He probably needs to take a break. Maybe just focus on doing interviews with players or something. He had a great 1 on 1 interview with Joe Burrow before the Super Bowl. That’s the type of stuff he should stick to from here on out.
This is a really good post. I’ve wondered what kind of absolute psycho messaging/threats the dude got as well during those initial few days. Dude still had a young family and was probably like frick this shite.

The difference between Brees and the average guy is he already has frick you money and he was always vocal about his support of the flag. He sold out and he should be called out on that

Nobody is trying to say he was great on tv but
quote:this is just dumb. He's the most beloved athlete in the history of the city of New Orleans. There is NO debate about that. Maybe nationally that could be true, but he brought up the Saints in his attack.
