The 16-0 Patriots loss in the superbowl was hilarious. Just couldn't quite finish.

ETA: I feel 2009 Vikings team was pretty damn strong

One of my favorite teams, I wanted Favre to get another ring but obviously I preferred the Saints winning.

Only slight exaggeration. Not trolling. Even with the 22 guys on IR; damn talented team

Most teams in the divisional rounds are damn talented. We were not the most talented by any means though. 2009 I still feel like Vikings were most talented, 2011 we were pretty damn good, 2013 was some kind of fluke year and I didn't feel we were all that good overall. 2010 seemed pretty good but injuries like this year came on late right before playoffs.

I’m not sure you can say there was a team left that was more talented than the saints. I mean how the frick could you? Maybe the patriots? But that’s not certain at all and they were supposed to be “one of the best teams ever” preseason. Personally, the saints have more talent than the Pats in my eyes. It doesn’t matter. It’s a heartbreaking blown opportunity, Brees may never get #2. I pray Marcus Williams can get past this as well as the whole team. That is my biggest fear. That this loss will be too devastating for them to overcome. I have this weird feeling we won’t get #2 until after brees retires, which really sucks for him bc he was bar none the best QB in the 2017 nfl playoffs. Not even close

The 2010 Steelers team was much better than the 2004 one you listed.

I feel like the 2013 Broncos and 2015 Panthers deserve mentions

We can agree to disagree, no way to say the Saints were the most talented team with the injuries they had and mostly rookies as your playmakers on D. Vikings had the #1 D and Eagles at their place have a damn good D. Jaguars have probably the best CB tandem in the league, and Patriots are the Patriots. We were lucky to get by Panthers if Funchess didn't lose the ball in the lights at end of the game.

As I've said, no reason MW won't get past this. He manned up during after game interview, and besides it wasn't a SB game where he blew it. It was a big deal, but there has been worse. I'm not worried at all about it. I had "that feeling" in 09,10 (injuries again though) and 11. I never felt great about this season, I did feel good about the future after our offseason though. You may feel that way, but I personally don't.

1987 San Francisco 49ers

that team was essentially perfect during the strike year and was the year JR set the single-season receiving TD record, unfortunately they saved their worst game for their last when they played the 8-7 red hot Minnesota Vikings at Candlestick coming off their epic 34-point thrashing of the 12-3 Saints in the Wild Card game at the Dome. So many teams you could list off that were "too good to lose" that lost when it counted in this respect.

Last years Falcons team. Yes yes 28-3. But they set offensive records, tore through everybody and absolutely put it to the best dynasty in football history for 3 quarters
