I believe the answer is lance moore. He came a huge part of the offense when bush got hurt and has not looked back. He has made great catches and hasn't dropped a pass I don't think. He is the best improved and is very important in what we do! He deserves it. Very hard worker!!!

Is this a "besides Drew" thread?

outside of Brees I'd say Moore deserves it as well.

1.He has 60 rec 700+ yards and 8 TD's!!
3.He hasn't dropped a ball all year.
3.He is a first down getting machine.
4.He's been returnig punts.
5.and have I mentioned how reliable his hands are?

The 2 rookies Ivory and Graham get some love too.

on defense I'd give it to Jenkins.

The Saints tackle position.

I know you asked for one but its hard to see without film who/whom are getting it done at tackle.

I do know this unit was much maligned esp. Ayodele who many said was trash and needed to go. He seems to have improved the most. Sed of course has been healthy along with big Will. Brown Wilkerson and Charlston have all pitched it well.

But running in the middle on the Saints seems much more difficult now than the past few years.

Lance looked good in practice today. He even makes spectacular catches in practice.

Offense (outside of Brees, of course) I'd go with Lance Moore, Colston a close second.

Defense : Vilma with Malcolm Jenkins a close second

Best rookie of this past year is Ivory.

ditto besides Brees. Even if if numbers aren't as spectacular he's top 3 QB and thus top 5ish for the whole league as well.

I'm thinking defense since it so improved overall. Vilma is the QB of the D. His play checking, positioning, and leadership score far beyond just making plays. Prolly him.

Jenkins is the stepped up most improved fo sho. In his first year starting- and that not even full bore- he is getting all pro talk from outside Saints circles.

If not Vilma I'd say Ellis. Finally healthy for the whole year we are getting what ya expect from a top 10 pick. A big part of the run d improvement and I'd say a top 5 DT as a pass rusher- 6 sacks for Big Sed!

Even if not as spectacular as last year, it's pretty impressive to have 2 all pro guards.

A few votes for the steady quiet storm of Colston.

Jimmy Graham my early 2011 nominee. Pro Bowl, mark it down.

Vilma...couldn't believe he didn't make the pro bowl. He is the Saints defense.

I love Brees. He walks on water in my book. But I have a hard time thinking he's our player of the year considering he's turned the ball over at least once in every game since Week 5. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the ridiculous standards he's set.

On O, I say Ivory because we would have no semblance of balance without him stepping up, considering Pierre and Reggie missed the larger part of the regular season.

On D, I don't see how it can go to anyone but Vilma. Dude's a straight up beast and one of the best 3 or 4 MLB's in the league as far as I'm concerned. Jenkins is right behind him - made the jump from promising rookie to full-on beast in one offseason.

Also, I just wanted to throw some love out there for Harper. Second on the team in tackles and probably the most consistent member of the secondary. Dude's an absolute animal in run support.

Offense - Moore
Defense - Jenkins
ST - Hartley (even with the horrible 1st month)
Newcomer - Graham

Ayoldele won't get the deserved love he should. He and Sedrick have been pretty stout up front.
Ivory has delivered a grinding rush attack that was a serious need for this squad.

I wanna say Jenkins but I gotta give Vilma his love. Vilma then Jenkins on D. Ivory, Moore, and Graham on offense.
