He was a backup for a reason. He did well and hopefully he continues to do well but Kellen also started chipping and helping him a lot more than what Banks got. One of the most frustrating things about Kellen is that he really leaves Fuaga and Banks on islands a LOT.
He helped Richards out and will probably continue to do so because while our next stretch of games should be easier, outside of the Falcons, we still play teams with really good edges.
Crosby - Raiders
Van Ginkle and Dallas Turner - Vikings
Burns - Giants
TJ Watt - Steelers
So yeah. Not ideal to be missing your starting LT against that stretch

The o-line blitz pickup and blocking assignments have been head-scratchingly stupid at various points these first 2 games, illustrated by those pictures in that tweet.
Go back to that long 4th quarter pass to Olave in game 1 (when he went up for the ball and landed on his back after that catch). Would have easily been a walk-in TD if Shough was able to step into the throw. But instead, on the T/E stunt that Detroit ran, Ruiz and Fuaga were both engaged with the DT and McCoy decided that they really needed to triple team him, so 3 guys blocking the DT and let's just let the all-pro DE have a free path to hit the qb.

Notice it's also not Hendrickson that's pass rushing. That mattered too. But Richard's is a huge positive as a backup

I don't want to get too excited, but in the short time Richards has been a Saints he has really looked good when he's been called on. This 2025 ate preseason trade with the cowgirls for Richards and '28 7th for our '28 6th is looking like highway robbery.

Actually Ruiz was our lowest graded player.
Banks was top 5 last week against a premier rusher. I’m not worried about him at all. Or Edwards. Or McCoy. I am worried about Ruiz + Fuaga even though Fuaga played better in the second half this week.

I am not “concerned” with Banks but it would be nice if at least one of our highly drafted tackles asserted themselves as an alpha

What were the two players’ grades? I stopped paying for PFF once they got acquired and laid off their whole staff
