nervous no but was a concern to start the season
Ellis/Fujita out does not help.
Jump to big leads won't matter
IMO this isn't a top 5 rushing defense but doesn't have to be in reality

If we don't jump on them early, their running game is a BIG concern. After what Atlanta did to us, every team with a good running game will be licking their chops. Carolina can flat-out run the football. If Jake has to throw it, we win big. If not, we could be in for a tough fight. It all comes down to whether we get up on them early and make them play from behind.
Don't be fooled into thinking we have a great run defense. Since we have been way out in front, we have forced teams to throw. This plays right into our strengths, which under Greg Williams are pressuring the QB and putting our DB's in position to make plays. So far, this has been a winning formula for us.
I'm not ready to say we can stop the run just yet. We will see this week. Carolina does not want to Jake to throw it. We will learn a lot about our D this week. Should be a good test. I say we win, but I really like the points this week.

exactly, fujita being out was huge.
mitchel and dunbar were major liabilities during the last game. very poor on containment on the outside and were responsible in a large part for a number of turners big runs.
we need fujita back

after watching the game again, charles grant cheated inside a few times and did not hold outside contain. specifically see the first touchdown run.
