Hopefully Bushrod can keep our Wally Pipp-eness going. Nesbit sits, Nicks comes in, does better, take the job. PT (a story himself) dinged, Bell comes in, proves himself more than up to the task. Just like with WR depth we haven't had to push Moore back in. Solid Bushrod will not only be good for on the field performance but create good options when considering a new contract for Brown.

JB is a very good LT, but I sure have enjoyed not having to endure his drive-killing false start and holding penalties this year. I don't know if Bushrod is really good enough to take his job, but if so, JB could be nice tradebait in the offseason. I could see the Saints unloading a tackle, DE, and possibly WR in the offseason via trade. It would be nice to have some extra draft picks for a change.

For Brown I remind myself he only gave up 2-3 sacks last year. I think 8-10 holds. Then say to yourself, I'd rather a 10 yd down over than a 7-10yd loss with down lost and a hit on St. Breesus.

Both of our left tackles have the initials JB. I was able to figure your post out, but let's not use initials for this position.

Ok, we know that our line is a good pass offense... Which linemen are capable of handling both the pass and THE RUN????

I think Brown, Nicks, and Evens are the true russ offense!!!

Yes, because Mike Bell is only 4th in the league in rushing with Bushrod filling in for Brown. He'd be first if Brown hadn't gone down...

I don't know how comfortable this organization is going to be investing 30 million or so guaranteed and a long term contract to Jammal Brown's knees.

I realize LT is a franchise player position, especially with the need to protect Brees, but the FO has done a pretty good job finding good linemen in the middle rounds. Alleman is the only one I remember them taking that didn't work out.

My thought exactly Chad. If Bushrod can prove himself you certainly could get some trade value for Brown. Maybe go with another with the 2010 32nd pick.

the Dolphins got an undisclosed 2010 draft pick trading Alleman recently. Could push for some playing time in KC

An interesting idea would be potentially playing Bushrod at left tackle, and moving Brown back to RT for Stinch, since its his more natural position anyway. I think that would be quite a formidable line and provide some solid run and pass blocking.

Interesting yes but Brown will still want to get paid like a premier LT in league.

Jammal Brown is back in Nola to rehab surgically-repaired hip. Expected return is the first week in Nov., Week 8 vs. ATL or Week 9 vs. CAR.
