I am trying to understand the people who watched the same guy as me, and somehow think he can’t be a starting QB...? Every time he is on the field good things usually happen. He looks like a man out there playing with boys.. His throwing does not look bad either.. So why does everyone keep discounting him? Have they not seen this man play? He single handily almost beat the Vikings himself! If Sean would of kept him in he probably would of.. So why am I seeing on twitter and on this board people calling him a bum or he can’t be a starting QB??? I feel like I’m living in the twilight zone or something..

He will have a chance to showcase his QB skills this preseason.

He's already done that for 2 years and got shite for credit. He outperformed Teddy B last season.

There is almost zero sample size of him as a QB in real NFL games. Think he had 7 passes this season total? He's been a nice gadget player but there really isn't much evidence to say he can be a starting QB.

Yes he had a solid preseason but you can't really take much from that. It's good he doesn't look like typical preseason garbage but hard to translate that to regular season games.

I disagree.. Cause he will not have the same weapons as first string.. I just don’t think you can use that as good showcase..

Exactly! It’s crazy he still does not get any credit!

Only one of those big plays came as a dropping back as a QB. The rest were him being a gadget player. Even that one pass was an underthrown pass in which the defense wasn’t expecting a deep throw. So you can’t use his complete performance to justify him being a starting caliber NFL QB.

I'm not saying I don't think he can be a #1 QB. However I'm not sold in the fact that the job is his after Brees is gone.

IMO there is a zero chance Brees plays in the preseason. So Hill should be working with all the #1's

Good point, however that is what I mean.. He is just a winner and I feel like he will win a game for us no matter what. His throwing isn’t as bad as everyone thinks however that’s just my opinion..

They just extended him for 2 years, I believe he will split reps in the preseason with Winston to see what both can do. I can easily see the coaching staff alternate them with the #1s game to game. He will get a chance and may the best QB win.

I'm routing for Taysom as I think he has a higher ceiling as a QB than what has been seen. But in the long run I want the best QB in place when Brees retires, whether that is Taysom, Winston, or the guy we picked up in the 7th.

You've gotten all of that from his passing from the 13 passes he's thrown the past 2 seasons?

Dude. Stop. Breathe. Re-read my post. I'm on your side. It's an insult to the rest of the board who is a bunch of simple minded dumbasses that's going to point out that Taysom is just a gimmick and tell you all about his career passing stats on paper.

I totally agree! I just want to win and may the best man win.. I just get sick of all the hate I see from people on taysom.
