The practice whites or color rush?
Posted on 11/27/20 at 3:39 pm to Elleshoe
God, I hate the practice whites.
What they don't get is that it's the shoulder/pants stripes that raise the white color rush unis to 11. The stripes are also what makes the throwback black/gold alternates look so badass.
Without the stripes, it looks like one of those generic uniforms used in cheesy commercials featuring an NFL star, but the company doesn't wanna pay the rights for the team logo/etc. ala Brees/Pampers.

They grew on me. No where near as good as the color rush but the first week they wore them in Jax I think it was I hated them. It was something with the sun/light in the stadium. Once they wore them in Chicago and at home they looked much better

I believe we only have 1 use left of color rush for this season (NFL rule for alternates is 3 times a year & we wore them on MNF @ LV & SNF @ TB)... and while this is a guess I would almost willingly bet my salary that we're saving that final use of color rush for Christmas Day vs. the Vikings (which is technically our TNF game even though it's on a Friday afternoon)

That Xmas game better be an absolute smackdown on the Vikings.

Those are too plain. Why don't we just make the color rush whites one of out regular uniforms? Do we think they are so good that they should only be used for special occasions?

I'm for what the Patriots did... esp. if Drew does retire after this season
make a home version of our color rush uniform and make that our regular uniforms from now on

Yes. All of our jerseys need stripes. Period.

Yep. Just one more time. I was thinking either Chiefs or Vikings.

Chiefs would be the only other game they'd wear color rush
but typically they use CR when they're in primetime... ESPECIALLY on holidays & TNF games... that's why I'd put Vikings ahead of Chiefs

You absolutely correct. It’s also the gold numbers. The practice jerseys have black numbers.

Is there some sort of poison in the gold dye of the gold pants that the Saints aren't telling us about? What is causing such an aversion to our usual pants?
Posted on 11/27/20 at 11:54 pm to DestrehanTiger
The pants with the color rush stripe wouldn't look right with our current standard road white jersey. If it had the sleeve stripe it could work, but alas it does not.
The color rush was actually modeled after those original all whites, just tweaking the jersey numbers to gold.

Right, I'm asking why we can't wear these at least once.
Posted on 11/28/20 at 12:11 am to DestrehanTiger
We can't. Terrible record in those compared to all the rest (still a winning record, but a good bit behind every other combo).
When we make the Super Bowl again we can bust them out.
We should also stop wearing the black on black because our record is better with black on gold.
It goes all whites (which I think we have yet to lose in), color rush (which we are limited in use), and black on gold. Every other combo needs to be stashed.

wasn't the issue with the gold pants that once the players really started to sweat (esp. the linemen)... the gold pants started to reveal a bit too much?
there was no issue with the gold pants when they were made by Puma or Reebok... it only started becoming an issue when Nike took over the apparel deal

That's problem 2. Problem 3 is the Nike "gold" is tan and looks nothing like that pic.
Nike's "gold" is absolute trash.

yeah that too
Nike somehow took 1 of the best looks in the NFL & fricked it up almost beyond recognition
