had he put Delhomme in and say Jake had some success would we have Brees?

Yes 'cuz SP is the type of coach who would've brought in his own QB.

Well like someone said we probably wouldn't have SP had Haslett gone with Delhomme.

Brooks was not a leader and there wasn't much team continuity. I remember JHorn said something about not even knowing where AB lived once.

He had flashes but here's what tore it for me. In a game at Carolina Haz called a hail mary at the end of the half. AB said he didn't want to sully his stats and refused to go back in. He then ran to the locker room before the half ended. So, I say F*^K that guy. He showed his worth when he went to the Raiders

If this is true that's one of the worst things I have ever heard about a football player.

I remember how excited I was when Blake went down and AB started kicking arse. Sure was a nice change from some of the shitty QBs we had after Bobby

this 100% true, but it was agianst the Ravens in Baltimore. IMO this is the day that ended the Haslett regime. When he allowed Brooks to go back into the game in the 2nd half he lost that team forever. All respect was gone, and with it his ability to coach and lead them.

He had the tools, he just didn't know how to use them. If the Saints had hired a head coach with an offensive pedigree, instead of defense, it might have been different. He played a couple of games (4 I think) in 2002 with the bum shoulder, either shows heart or stupidity

He is the worst QB or athlete ever to wear a professional jersey in any sport. Good enough reasons

You're kidding right? Aaron Brooks was extremely talented and did some good things. He was just kind of dumb on the field.

It's true alright. Seems like I got the game wrong but I thought it was Carolina. Nothing like having your starting QB run away instead of listening to the coach.

If Haz we honest with himself he would have benched Brooks many times for shite.

I never hated him either, but I think I was so traumatized by the Billy Joe years that I was terrified we would return to them

I can't bring myself to read 3 pages of any AB thread. Does he really deserve that? Not the worst by a longshot but quite the face (smiling 'n laughing) of the franchise for a falied era.

Do you realize that we were 7-1 or 6-1 when Blake went down...He was ballin and I wish he would have never got hurt so I didn't have to live through those Brooks years.....

He threw the ball backwards to a lineman...do I need to say more

"How many times in a row did Brooks go to the playoffs? Anybody."

1 time in a row, as a replacement in 2000.

I was a big AB fan and always said he didn't deserve the shite he got. 2002 would have a been another playoff year if he didn't get hurt and/or Haslett wouldn't have started him while hurt. Then 2003 the defense started to get shitty and then everything fell apart in 05.

So it's safe to say staugsluga made an epic fail with this statement about Brooks ->
