I agree with a second round RB if we can address some defense in fa. Hamilton's hurt a lot and Reggie misses like 30-40% of his games. We need another quality back. Gerhart is better than dweyer Ans I think Tate, while not stunning, would be better than Dixon. I do think Scott from lsu could be a steal in the late rounds.

I'll take Gerhart over Dixon. I do like Dixon's quickness. I use to think he was just a slow bruiser.
I swear if Gerhart was straight up a black skinned dude he'd be thought of more as a true runningback. The guy has all the tools/ability to be a starting rb in the NFL.. not fullback or just 3rd down specialist.

toby
above average speed. can really turn the corner. he's shifty. incredible trucking. great vision. highly athletic for a bigger back.
some scouts say he's not fast enough to be a featured back.. i don't know about all that..

There are like 10 similar big backs in this draft. I'd rather go defense early and grab a big RB in the 3rd or later.

Jamal Lewis in his prime is slower than Gerhart is. Lyndell white is also slower than Gerhart is. You move the chains you can be a force. The one thing that bothers me is that he runs sooo tough. Might shortenhis career.

frick toby gerhart! He will be a bust! Charles Scott late round, defense every other round!

yeah give Charles Scott 6 figures and he's a lock not to get lazy and fat like he did here

i dont think Dixon has 2nd rd value. More of a 4th rounder in my eyes.
exactly
a solid/good RB will be around in the 4th or 5th

Dixon and Dwyer will not be around at 64 in my opinion.

Taking a rb that early (2nd round) is silly. Especially with our needs. You can get more bang for your buck in the later rounds or an undrafted fa. Rbs are a dime a dozen.

I think the 4th round would be fine to pick up a rb. We don't need a guy with a first or second round pick to be the 3rd or 4th RB. I hate the draft every LSU player crowd but if you could get Scott in the 4th round I think that would be a good deal, most of the OL and DL prospects that have a chance to make the team will be gone by then. I also don't see any LB or DB that would crack our rotation making it to the fourth.
I wouldn't be surprise to see them trade away some late round picks to pick up a late third or early fourth. This is a deep draft but fortunately for the Saints we don't have a shite ton of holes to fill.

You don't know WTF you are talking about, easily the hardest worker on the football team last year. I know him and the people who train him and he was the first in the locker room in the morning and one of the last to leave in the evening, great team leader, and VERY strict about his diet/academics. He gained weight when the coaching staff asked him to (to play fullback). Ultimate TEAM player..

thats probably why he was out every night getting drunk and why Moffit had his name on the "Scouts this player does not work hard" list for half the season

I have no opinion on scotts work ethic, but from everything I have been reading he might not even be drafted. Nothing against him its just a deep draft for the bruisers.

If we have to et a RB im saying toby or tate, both have good speed and run u over. But diff would like to see a LB in the first round.

Where did you read that? Everything I've seen has him moving up with a great pro-day. This class is deep at RB, Scott should be available late and would look good in black and gold.

Lots of talk about getting a big bruiser of a R.B.. If we were Pitt or Carolina etc. I could see needing pics for more depth or talent beyond Evans or Hamilton. But with this off. I don't see the need to draft one unless a BPA falls that is to good to pass on. Plenty of guys will go undrafted to give a look at.

We don't need a RB for production. We could use one for depth. You don't draft for depth in the first three rounds. We should stick to defense early.

WOW you guys really think that Charles Scott will make it in the NFL? He showed his true colors this past season at LSU. Dude is a BUST.
Draft Dwyer, Gerhart, Tate, or Dixon ahead of Scott.
I know most of you guys are die hard LSU fans, but if you love the Saints (Like I do) you should hope that they draft the best available RB, not a guy b/c he played at LSU.
