He was cut by the Lions. Could be signed and put on the PS. Might be worth a look at developing. Big Strong kid.

I haven't watched him play in the NFL. I know he's got a good arm and has to be better than Grayson. Any chance we could develop him on the PS?

Has a PS QB ever developed into a good NFL starter?

I'm not saying don't sign him to the PS because I think we should have a third QB on the PS...but I'm not to sure if it'll be anyone who benefits us long term.

good question, let's say just starter for a few years, not necessarily real good

I dunno, did Kurt Warner have any PS time among his long path to the NFL?

Jake Delhomme and Marc Bulger went on from being placed on the Saints practice squad to have really good careers. Tommy Maddox was on the falcons practice squad for a year before going to the XFL and coming back to the NFL to start four or five years.

Other guys like Kurt Warner & Tony Romo took time to develop. Not advocating for Kaaya, but some people it does take time to develop.

Not how it works. We'd have to sign him to our 53 first, which he isn't worth doing. Someone else will claim him and put him on their 53.

Huge decision next year as 2018 has some prime qb' hitting free agency.

Doubt anyone claims him. Would have to convince him to sign to our practice squad instead of Lions.

Nothing says you cannot offer more. PS players do not have a set salary...They have a minimum, but you can pay above that.

Might not be too hard to do, if we wanted him.

Payton's a known QB guru. Brees is a good bit older than Stafford.

So if Kaaya were harboring any hope of sticking around somewhere to learn and develop, we're probably the best place to be. In theory, about the time he starts to learn the nuances of the game, Brees would be retiring. This would be best case scenario for a 5th rd guy who's raw

We did that with Chase Daniel.

If you were a developing QB and Sean Payton pitched you, who would turn him down?

I wouldn't be shocked at all if they don't take a shot at that if nobody signs him to the 53.
