Saintswite article...
1. Sign Winston
2. Marques Valdes-Scantling and/or Jarvis Landry
3. PJ Williams
4. Tyrann Mathieu
5. Terron Armstead
Do we have the money for this? I doubt it, but that would be solid

We absolutely do. But it won’t happen

put Armstead at #2 & double down on WRs in the draft

Nobody wants that Oompa Loompa interception machine

MVS has mallard fins for arms. Jarvis isn’t even comparable to him. Packers have been desperately wanting MVS to be a thing for years, but he just can’t make the plays.
Jarvis is a far superior player.

You do realize Winstons past as far as interceptions.

1A.) Resign Winston
-Or if he signs elsewhere, trading for Mayfield or signing Mariota
1B.) Sign Landry/Draft 2-3 WRs
3.) Resign Armstead
4.) Resign PJ
5.) Find another RB to play with/for Kamara while suspended (Fournette/Penny/Kenneth Walker)?
I’d also include possibly finding 2 Olinemen. Prefer one guard and one tackle/guard combo.
The focus has to be getting the offense fixed up. No way we can field that garbage again.
The defense doesn’t need much change. I’d love Mathieu but that’s not an absolute need. I’d look at signing a veteran CB for more bodies (Pat Pete anyone).

If we don’t resign Armstead, do we look at drafting one in the first since it’s a deep WR draft? Or do we sign someone like Duane Brown for a year? Or do we roll with Hurst at LT/Peat at LT and Hurst at LG?

depends how the draft board shakes out

“Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda” - Coach Mora
Sean set us back with his Taysom Hill “experiment.” And then Sean quits when he couldn’t turn Taysom in Knees.
Jameis should walk after the whole Watson drama.

Yep MVS is nothing more than an occasional deep threat. Hard pass

I agree with all but giving big money to a WR like MVS or even Landry. The only reason I include Landry is because he’s a classic slot guy that does his best work underneath over the middle. His hands are insane so I wouldn’t be mad about getting him but we already have our big power WR that works the slants and underneath in Thomas. Most would think of MT as am outside WR but Sean used him in the slot just as much as outside. If you’re going to sign a WR it should be a true outside deep threat that can open up the h darn earth routes for MT but I’d just assume draft a couple receivers in this draft where the strength is in the 2nd to 4th rounds. This still lets us use our 1st round pick for other areas. If we can’t get Armstead back then 1st should be OL as Hurst is a quality backup who can start but he’s not going to be an all pro and Peat is Peat. I expect him to hurt his vagina in the first game and be out a month. It is clear though that the team is very comfortable with Throckmorton playing guard so maybe Peat’s eventual replacement is already on roster. We have to pay McCoy or lose him after this year too so it would be nice to have your guards on cheap rookie deals to offset the money your tackles and center will be making.

They’re two completely different types of WR.

I am not looking for a one truck pony deep threat. Take a guy in the first round that can do it all and has some speed to stretch the field.

I'm not sure very many people at all don't realize MT is more suited to the "slot" with much more activity in the "interior passing game"...
Landry is getting long in the tooth, but I'd like to see him as a true #2 for the first time in his career. I think he could be "a poor man's" Chris Godwin in terms of production and SIMILAR play style -- not a burner but good route running, good hands, smart, gets open. Not as big as Godwin but every bit as physical, and possibly better hands.
Agreed generally on OLine issues... I'd really have to wonder if they won't really consider moving Ruiz to Center and sliding McCoy over to Guard. Ruiz was always "supposed to be" a sure-thing lock at Center. Would go a LONG WAY if we could fix C & RG... Maybe they like Throckmorton enough to plug him in at LG/Primary Backup/swing G... But would like to see an effort to bring in a decent mid-level FA or spend a mid-round pick or two on an interior OL.
Draft strategy-wise, I'd love to see Treylon Burks at 18, then focus on OL even if initially thinking "depth". RB as an offensive piece, Safety/LBs/RBs (special teams "musts"). I wouldn't mind a draft that hauled 2 WRs, 2 OL, maybe a TE, RB, couple of S's &/or LBs... We have 7 picks and been drafting DAMN WELL since Ireland came on board in 2016
