Guys do this all the time. They bulk up for the combine, then go back to their normal playing weight.

I like Dion Jordan with the 15th, as long as they think the shoulder surgery is not gonna keep him from havign a productive rookie camp and season.

Sorry, I can't quote from my phone, but to above.

That's why I used only official combine numbers. Everyone did the same thing. Don't forget that listed heights and weights of current nfl players aren't accurate. At the end of the day, the point is Jordan and Mingo are plenty capable of being every bit as big as the leagues top pash rushers. Lets not get ridiculous with heights and weights.

But those seem like legit playing weights for Matthews and Miller, even from their last college years. The point is, guys who bulk up like this for the combine usually go back to their normal weight. The guys you listed are bad examples.

Jordan tore his labrum during the season. Big reason why his numbers were down. This was always the plan. Nothing has changed with his draft stock.

Aldon Smith at the Combine

Bruce Irvin at the Combine

No see Jordan there but here's outta high school

Check this LINK ]recent video, looks the part next to Willie McGinnest

at Oregon

Mentioned before, he is proficient in pass coverage. He might be the prototype answer to the Jimmy Grahams and Gronks of the NFL.

Dude looks skinny as hell. And hearing Mingo played at 230, I'm now worried about these 2 guys.

If it came down to Mingo, Jordan or Jones at 15, I'd rather have Jones if he checked out physically. The trouble is if he did check out, he'd be gone by 15. Between Mingo and Jordan, I'd prefer Jordan.

Because him and Mingo both were playing DE in a 4-3 against bigger OLinemen, if they can both transition to OLB 3-4 in the NFL then I don't see why they can't be productive.

I don't know as I didn't watch that much Oregon football. But from all accounts that I've read about him, he was put in coverage a lot, including occasionally on wide receivers.

I did watch all of LSU's games though. Mingo had less sacks than that....and rushing the passer was pretty much all he did.

I'd actually prefer to see the Saints trade down if they could find someone willing, unless they could get Lane Johnson. I was just speculating on those three I quoted and my personal preferences.

Not sure what you are trying to prove with those pics, but Smith is listed at 258 pounds and his arms look bigger than Jordan's legs in those pics. Irvin is only like 6'3 and weighs more than Jordan. Plus, those guys were and are proven pass rushers. Jordan didn't show to be a big time pass rusher in college.

That's Bruce Irvin. Again, arms bigger than Jordan's legs.

I'm not going to lie. I'd be happy with any of these three guys.

The more I think about it, the more I wouldn't mind seeing the Saints trade back.

Jarvis Jones, if he drops, do you really want him? Why do you think he dropped?!

Jordan to me screams Ellis. BTW, I had a torn labrum last year and it sucked. I didn't have surgery and instead chose 6 weeks of different stretches 5x a day. It worked great.

Mingo, who I like a lot, will be gone. But if he's not, I do worry about his production. But I want to see him do well and with the Saints would be great.

Just the way he is built. You see these guys all the time in basketball. There is a reason Sam Montgomery was able to get up to 260 while Mingo was still playing at 230. The guy is probably doing everything in his power just to keep the extra 10 pounds on for the combine.
